Over a week ago, Nellie, my 2 year old foster OES went to her new home - and to a loving family. She is very lucky to find such a nice home and family. On February 23, Nellie, formerly Lucy (I changed her name to severe the tie between neglect and the name Lucy), was a drop off at a vet's office suffering from matting to the bone, urine burn so severe her paws were ulcerated and bubbled, and a broken back leg that had never been set leaving her leg a bit deformed. I was called and immediately took her in. 3 months later her hair has grown in, her sores are all healed, and she is much calmer and confident. My Patch loved her, they got along just great. A special thank you goes to Ingrid for placing Nellie on her website and allowing her adoption to be facilitated through her rescue site - her help was invaluable. Also a thank you to Jim in No Kentucky for performing the home study. I just wanted to share another sheepdog's good fortune on finding a wonderful home and family. |
