Who would be interested in another Michigan gettogether? Everyone and all are invited but I realize that it's bit far for some to travel-- like Lisa. I was thinking sometime in mid to late July? What is everyone's interest and/or availability? Let's talk it out and see if we can come up with something. If you're interested, reply to this with a resounding "I'm in!" and let me know what dates work best for you. Or, if it's easier, just mention what dates won't work. Let's get the party rollin'! |
|
I think it's a great idea!
I am busy with dog shows the entire first week of July, up until the 9th, and then nothing else til August 12. I have plans to go to the Highland Games July 21. I would love to go if it's not one of those days |
How far is Chicago from youse guys?????? I mightmightmight want to take a road trip this summer.... |
Mid to late July is good for us. We would probably bring our trailer and stay overnite at a campground, if there are any close by. |
I'M IN! lol
The only weekend that for sure won't work for us is the weekend of August 11th (my bday). Chicago is about a 4-6hr drive depending on what part of Michigan you want to end up in. |
Cool, it's looking good so far. Where are all my Michigan people? |
Hey--can you have the Michigan picnic in Virginia this year? I'm in if you can! |
Tell you what. We'll have a Virginia picnic in Michigan-- just for you! |
We're in!
Weekends of August 4 or 11 are best here. |

Paula, it's probably about 6-8 hours depending on where construction is this year. I too would like to get the heck out of here and to be honest...away from my own dogs Is that horible??? I just need to go away and have NO responsibility for anyone else. Only thing...I don't like to drive either Don't I sound like a great backseat driver |

No, it doesn't sound horrible. I just wrote my husband saying I'd do anything to go to disney world (sil is there now). We would both just be sitting on the bench (b/c we're both pg), but I just need a change in environment! Thinking about going anywhere with a dog in one hand, a stroller w/baby, and another dog who has to pee every inch of her walk makes me ill. I'd still love to go if I could leave the animals at home! Have fun to those who go! Sounds like fun! |
Paula O. wrote: How far is Chicago from youse guys?????? I mightmightmight want to take a road trip this summer.... From us it's just over 4.5 hours. It's not a bad drive. Well, I guess if you were going way up north it could be an 8 hour drive. Detroit to Chicago is definitely not that involved! |

Well, I guess if you were going way up north it could be an 8 hour drive. Detroit to Chicago is definitely not that involved! Oh, then let's go to the ocean!!!!!!!!! I don't know...when we went to pick up Fozzie in Metamora it took us a very long time even with Steve driving fast. Is Metamora a lot further than Detroit? My stomach was in my throat the entire ride so I wasn't really paying attention. |
It sounds great. What part of Michigan. I am in southern Ohio. We will be gone from July 14-21. Let us know.
If anyone is close enough we are having Dog Fest near Cincinnati this weekend. It will be at the Voice of America Park right of I-75 between Dayton and Cincinnati. It is being run by a no-kill shelter that we have volunteered at for years. My husband is parking cars and I am working at one of the booths. It is Saturday and Sunday. |

How is it that not a single Michigan person is interested in the Michigan picnic? Clyde's feelings are hurt. |
Hey, I said I'm in. Now Mater's feelings are hurt |

Boy....those Michigan sheepies sure are sensitive |
Yikes, I missed you, Kayti! Tell Mater I'm sorry!
Great. Now Mater's and Clyde's feelings are hurt. Yes, Amanda. We are delicate flowers. |
We are VERY sensative creatures up here. Mater said to tell Clyde that he's looking forward to meeting him and he wants to know if Clyde wants to come play in his HUGE backyard sometime. |
Ok Kayti, I have to ask... how did you come up with the name Mater, how do you pronounce it? |
id guess its pronounced as .." Whats the mater.." or "oh look youre even more mater than yesterday.." |
It's Mater-- like the truck from the movie Cars. Sounds like tater. |
Darcy wrote: id guess its pronounced as .." Whats the mater.." or "oh look youre even more mater than yesterday.."
Well mater isn't a word that I'm aware of in the English language so it's confusing me LOL Matter as in what's the matter, is a different story... I don't even get your second reference... LOL Mater is also latin for mother, and was a character in Cars apparently... |

Ok cool LOL Tater would be a cute name for a dog too LOL |
Yep it's from the Cars movie. The characters whole name is Tow-Mater and he's a tow truck.
His voiced by Larry The Cable Guy if you know who that is. |

I am working on Crufts next year with the nagging also. |
Some MI people have computers with bad system boards and couldn't reply but I'm back and I'm in . Jil, where are you?
Jill, I think when you call Clyde fattyfattyfatpants he would have a pretyy thick skin |
