George did this and so I moved him up into our room. Since then I've never heard a peep out of him!!
Some people say endure it and he will settle down I couldn't stand it and let him upstairs- it worked out fine!! |
Pip did eventually gow out of his midnight whining and barking, but errr... now he sleeps on the bed with us so um... make sure you set your boundaries and stick with them! We didn't and now I have a sheepdog bed companion! Unfortunately late night barking is just part of having a puppy. It will eventually decrease, but you have to be patient! |
The first few weeks are so hard! Hang in there, it will get better, I promise!
Make sure you put toys in his crate so he has something to do, Oliver loves to chew on bones while he is in there. We also hide treats in his crate, to give him something to do. If you want him to sleep in a crate at night, don't let him sleep anywhere else, or he will never sleep in a crate at night. If he gets up, no playing, no treats, no walking, just potty and back in. Oliver wanted to be able to see us at night, as long as he could see us, he was fine. Be patient, it really will get better. Is he reliable yet in the potty area? If so, maybe you can leave him in a certain room with toys, food, water, etc. while you work. That's what I do with Oliver when I clean. Oh, and maybe a TV on, Oliver watches TV when we are gone too. Good Luck! |
