Our vet says this is a very good indication of a kidney stone. We feel horrible- but our schedules won't allow us to take him for an x-ray until tomorrow... darn jobs and responsibilities anyhow. So x-rays tomorrow and then we see what the next step is. Someday I will be able to post in other areas- beyond the Medical and Nutrition threads |

So sorry to hear. I hope things go well and your doggie has a positive outcome. We still haven't eliminated possible kidney stones for Yuki. I just decided not to go in since she's doing alright. Still doing a blood test though to rule out other things. If she does get sick again, we are checking and possible surgery to her vulva. |
Poor boy
Did they give him something more for pain? From what I understand kidney stones are one of the most painful things to have. |

Oh dear- what were her symptoms? Beyond the bladder infection, we had no idea that he had additonal problems. They are talking about a special diet- because of the likely hood of additonal kidney/bladder infections, due to his surgery. Even though he "hikes" sometimes - he still doesn't have the strength yet to really get the pressure going. This is something that we are really going to have to keep and eye on. I think we have gotten a bit lazy in making sure his bladder is empty. |
