I'm just joined. About 2 weeks ago, my husband & I had to put my precious puppy, Baloo to sleep. He was 12 yrs old & had developed kidney failure. He had arthritis in his hips & his hips were deterating. When Baloo died, a part of me died with him. I'm still having bad days, but not everyday. We have a 2 yr old OES named Cotton. I love Cotton very much but he's a daddy's boy. Baloo was my baby & my world. I had him for over 2 yrs when I got married. I have lost my best friend. I am wanting to get a female puppy. I live in Northern Alabama. I use to rock Baloo & he went every where I went except when I would go to work, church or special events. I miss the companionship & his love so very much. Cotton is a registered OES & my husband & I are considering raising puppies. I got my very first OES when I was 13 yrs old. Baloo was a house dog, house broke, well mannered & got a hair cut twice a yr. I started keeping him trimmed when he got older because I didn't want the extra weight causing him heart problems & making his hips hurt more. If any of you know where I can get an OES puppy close to Alabama, please let me know. I will give this puppy the best life it could ever want. My niece told me that Baloo had a better life & more love than some people that she knew. Thank you. |

Im so sorry about Baloo....it sounds like he would have fit in here perfectly....spoiled Nothing is worse than losing your beloved puppy..
Im sure someone will chip in with some advice on where to look for a new oes puppy....good luck and welcome!! |
I may be mistaken but I think there is an OES rescue of the south east. If you wanted to go that route.I was just reading in the forum about a 9 month old sheepie rescue. The dog would love you for it. |

Here is the site for the Old English Sheepdog Rescue Network of the South East, http://oesrescuenetwork.org/index.html.
We adopted an amazing 14 month old girl form this group in March.
Good luck. |
