My best friend Carey is coming to visit.
She really doesn't like flying and was scared about leaving her son until now. He's 2. She had planned to come out and then found out she was pregnant with him. Anyway it's been a year and a half since we have seen each other. Hayley was only 11 months old the last time Carey saw her in person. As for Ryan, she hasn't seen him in 3 yrs. Currently her plane is sitting on the tarmac in Newark due to weather. She is not very happy. They have already watched a movie. She's been on the plane for almost 2 hrs.  Hopefully they will be able to take off soon. I was on the phone with her when the Pilot said that no traffic was taking off to the West from any of the NY area airports, so they had planned on heading North or South and then West if traffic control will allow it.
I really hope she gets in the air before her Xanax wears off. 
I won't be seeing her until Sunday as she is staying two nights in Los Angeles with some other friends of hers that I don't know. On Sunday one of my other Best Friends, Kevin, who I haven't seen since College, now lives in Los Angeles. He is going to pick her up and drive her to the Desert. I am VERY excited about seeing him as we were inseperable in High School and I miss him.  I am so excited... I wish Carey's plane would take off already so she can get here.  |

She left yesterday afternoon. 
We had a great time. I even got to pretend I was a tourist and shopped at the shops in Palm Springs.
We drove up Rte 74 which goes up the side of the local mountain range and you can see the entire Desert. We even spotted the Big Horn Sheep and got some pictures. Then we went to El Paseo - in Palm Desert which is the Rodeo Drive of the Desert. Tuesday we went to Pioneertown which was used as a set for filming Westerns...years ago. They now have wildwest shows on the weekends. We went during the week and it was just us, walking through a Ghost Town, very cool. Yesterday we went to Laguna Beach and drove up the coast to Corona Del Mar, then I dropped her off at the airport. It was a very busy few days, but we had tons of fun. She liked California, but refused to move here until Dunkin Donuts opens some stores here. |

Oh I forgot to mention we went to Joshua Tree National Park, which was VERY cool! 
Amanda, Carey lives off of Dunkin Donuts Coffee, I did too. If only they would open some out here.... it would be the perfect place to live. BTW she brought me 2 lbs of Coffee as per my request.
