Rescue places in Minnesota.

Does anyone know if there are any rescue places here in Minnesota? I'd love to volunteer at one and help with the dogs and all that good stuff.

Where in MN are you?
I am in So MN, by Mankato.
Im about 30 min away from st. cloud and a bout an hour away from st.paul.
It's a little town called Becker. Maybe you have heard of the furniture store?
Becker Furniture World?
You can check out Petfinder.com for a list of shelters and rescues in Minnesota. http://search.petfinder.com/awo/index.c ... =&keyword=

My favorite is the Minnesota Old English Sheepdog Rescue :hearts:

I know our shelter in Mankato loves having dog walkers, kennel help and the like.
Another thing may be taking a dog to obedience classes - we have some community volunteers who donate the money for classes. They just need someone to commit to taking needy dogs to classes. It really helps make them more adoptable.

I work with a basset rescue that serves MN, WI and northern IL.
My daughter took one of the foster bassets to classes. He had been "in the system" for almost a year. He is an absolute sweetie, but just had been bounced around to various foster homes and never received a consistant education. The change in him was amazing! He was adopted by the time he finished his classes.
YEP,

Try contacting Nancy at MN oes rescue. She's a great gal, and can always use the help! Otherwise, you local city or county pound can always use volunteers- people to feed the animals, clean enclosures, walk dogs, wash the blankets and towels, etc!

I had a lot of fun volunteering for thelocal pound when i was in college. i'm not sure if there are any rescue GROUPS specifiaclly int he becker area... but you could check petfinder.com and type in your zip code for the closest ones...

so umm.. ditto what everyone else said

Oh, i'll be sure to mention ya'll!
I think it wuld be a good idea for me to volunteer at an OES rescue, it'll give me time with them, then i can actually figure out if i truly do want one. I'll know what it takes to care for them and all that good stuff. :)
Only one! You might end up with a few if you help out with rescue. I fell in love at a distance when I first saw pics of Paul McCartney and his Martha!! That was in the 60's and I am waiting on my 5th. New puppy coming home the end of July!
