Lucy and Parker are still trying to figure each other out. They're co-existing together but I wouldn't say they are loving it. No playing yet but Lucy is REALLY good at herding Parker around. Poor boy doesn't have a clue of what's happening. She is sneaky!! She gets especially antsy when its time to eat. She doesn't want Parker anywhere near her food. He doesn't want it and she might not be overly interested in it either but she's going to make sure he stays away. I've been putting a baby gate up and feeding them in seperate rooms. Today I fed them and left Lucy alone thinking she might eat rather than running around and dropping kibble all over the kitchen. A few minutes later I heard a noise and went to see what she had gotten into. There she was standing at the gate with a loaf of bread in her mouth. She hadn't chewed it up (yet). She was holding it quite gently and it was more like a "Hey Mom! I'm having lunch, can I get you something? A loaf of bread?" As for my two year old-- Lucy LOVES her and the feeling is mutual. Lucy's bottom wiggles goes into overdrive when she sees Allie. Yesterday at the first sound of Allie waking up Lucy went charging into her room to greet her. I heard a burst of giggles followed by "She loves me!!". Ahh what a way to start the day!! And finally--I've been for the most part leaving a leash on Lucy in the house. She's been great with Allie and vice versa but everything is still new and I want to be able to control her quickly should the need arise. Allie was playing and made some noise with her toys followed by giggles. Lucy immediately wanted to run and investigate. I just missed stepping on the leash and Lucy managed to round the corner ahead of me. I could feel the collision that was about to happen but what I saw was straight from a comic strip. Lucy evidently realized she was going to collide and tried to put on the breaks. She was literally sliding across the floor in a sit position with her head turned to the side like she was trying to steer in the opposite direction. Allie was frozen in front of her with eyes squinted waiting for the fall. Lucy came to a stop and barely even bumped Allie (she didn't even stumble). The both looked like "Oh! Well that wasn't so bad!" |
