The day started off with a herding demonstration featuring "real" sheep but "fake" sheepdogs. Next year I look for Chewie or Yuki to do our demonstration: There was a grooming demonstration by Erica using Happy Harry: Only to find out that Harry's ears were totally overgrown. Perhaps that is why he has selective hearing: Maggie and Barney gave us a demonstration in open and obedience with a little help from George. Here is Maggie demonstrating her retrieving skills: Barney going over the jump: And back again. Nice height Barney!: Harry and I followed with an agility demonstration. Here he is on the way down the A-frame. It actually looks like he made his contact. : Here he is going over the last jump on the course: A feeble attempt at the weave poles. The picture implies that he has these down but we have a little more work to do: Running through the course again: Afterwards everyone got a chance to try the equipment. Here is Chewie on the pause table: Simon tries out the A-frame with some encouragement from his dad: Nita says "tah-dah" for Nelson on the pause table. Nelson face seems to be saying "Geez mom, it is no big deal" : Nelson also tries the A-frame: "Hey can someone lower this cross bar? At BassetPalooza I wouldn't have to put up with this nonsense!": Harry's dad Quigley walking the A-frame while Harry's uncle Kobie looks on: The dogs had fun running: And Harry found another puppy, Higgins to play with: Many of us found shared origins. Jewel and Bentley both traced back to Sir Reginald of Fair Oaks in Missouri: A group from the Show Me Kennel of Garden City, MO. - Harrington, Quigley, Dakota, Clementine, Higgins and Kobie: Harry and his dad, Quigley descend from Wynsilot Kennels in Wisconsin. Zach also came from Wynsilot Kennels: Lining up for the group photo: The dogs are happy the group photo session is over: George says a few thank you's before the meal: The dogs took it easy during dinner and during the raffle drawings: SamSun takes it easy in a chair: Barney is content to lie on the cool concrete: The gate catches the attention of the Baton Rouge Sheepies: It is Maggie and Chummie: Dawn and Chewie won the attendance basket: Barkley and his family won the grooming basket. Barkley doesn't look too sure about that: Jewel's mom won the agility basket. Jewel is glad there are younger sheepies back home: A good time was had by all: Butt: We couldn't say good-bye with out saying one last very important thing: Sweet Dreams until next year: |

Awwwwww...... |
What a phenomenal series of very narrative pictures!
Judi and George, you did an outstanding job at pulling everything together - kudos!! And what fun places you have in St. Louis to take the sheepies. Proof of that is all the people who are willing to make the trek again next year. All I can say is - WOW!! |
We definitely hope we get to go to one of these... Maybe when we move down to the lower 48!!!
All the photos rock but getting a group photo was AWESOME. Looks like there were a lot of sheepies! Then the sign for Ron made me smile. I like seeing Maggie and Barney doing the agility demonstration. What a perfectly planned weekend for those that came down. You guys really did an awesome job! |

All I can say is that we had the absolute best time and can't thank Judi & George enough. |
Sue, Missouri isn't that far away - especially considering the payoff!! Bentley & I are definitely going next year. You & Darcy should plan on it . . . |
