Just sounds like eye boogers. Or it is something different?
They are dark brown crusties that gathers at the inner corner of the eye. I have to clean my dogs' eyes every other day, if not every day. |
It could be a bit of an infection, if it was more a yellow discharge I would of thought conjunctavitis, being just black maybe a problem with the tear duct, if the pup is going to the vets, best to have that checked out.
They all get black crustys in the corner of the eye, but the amount seems a little to much for your pup. In the meantime, get some luke warm water, add some salt, and bathe the eye with a cotton wool swab. taking the soaked swab from the outside of the eye to the inner corner, then get a clean dry swab and wipe the same way to dry off. |
Sounds like just plain old sheepdog eye boogers to me
If the eyes don't look irritated and you don't see any pus or anything, I would just pick them off everyday... some dogs have more eye crusties than others. |
If he has hair that can be possible rubbing, try pulling it back or trimming. Any extra irritation can cause more eye goo, too. All 3 of my dogs get them regularly. Clyde's are least obvious because his eyes are so black rimmed but Lucy and Bear look neglected if I miss one day. |
Im surprised no one mentioned the best place to clean eye boogers |
