Looking at the authors profile it looks like it's Ohio. |
Yep I was looking around more and it looks like the fundraiser was for the Cleveland Humane Society. |
I am in Ohio. Where is Buddy? Did someone think Cleveland? I will try to check and see what I can find out. |
I think he is a 7 year old OES mix in Cleveland at the Animal Shelter. I tried calling there but got a recording. I think he is on Petfinder. I am in Cincinnati. Is anyone any closer? This is schoolmarm. I just could not remember my password to sign in. |
This is what was posted at the bottom of the page that Ron provided the link to...
Carmen said... He's located in Cleveland, OH at the Cleveland Animal Protective League. He's 7 years old and very active. He's a really nice boy & really needs a home. We can be contacted at www.clevelandapl.org So I think that this is his Petfinder link: http://search.petfinder.com/petnote/dis ... id=8458544 And this is the contact info: Buddy ID: A031956 Cleveland APL Cleveland, OH 216-771-4616 Contact@clevelandapl.org |
Looks like he's been there since at least May 12th, the date on another blog entry the blogger made, that had the first picture of him.
How sad. |
Buddy came in about May 10th. Our shelter is not open on Sundays or Memorial Day & will reopen on Tuesday. He's a really nice dog, I have played with him & walked him while I am there. He is very excitable when trying to harness him to the point a few younger volunteers asked me for help because they were afraid. I went in the room & he acted the same jumpy way with me, but when I walked away & leaned on the wall he followed me & threw his butt at me. He just needs attention & the kennel is not helping him.
When I took the first pic he was not available yet, he had just come in & was a matted dirty mess. I am not sure of his circumstances at the moment on why he got brought to us, but I do know he was not a stray. There was NO reason for Buddy to be that dirty & matted. Our number is 216-771-4616 and we open at 10am on Tuesday. Please help him! He needs to be out of that kennel or he's going to go stir crazy! He has a double long kennel right now, but he needs his freedom! |
That's a sheepdog -- -- they really need human companionship.
I can see he has some skin issues from being matted and/or infested. (You can tell your groomer that it is really OK to shave a sheepdog's head. It's a myth about them needing hair over their eyes for protection. ) I hope we can rally some interest in Buddy for Tuesday! |
I am not sure why they didn't just shave him all over & let it grow back in evenly. We do not have a "groomer', it was just the vet techs that probably did it while he was under being neutered. He truly looked embarrassed.
Thank you for looking into him! I hope he can find a great forever home! |
Thank you for doing all you are doing to help him.
Any chance of getting a clearer picture or two? Side view maybe, at ground level? |
I work a few hours on Tuesday am, I will get some then. |
Chauncey gets embarassed when " necked ". I've had to put a shirt on him |
Okay so what's the latest and greatest on this guy? |
I forgot my camera when I went in yesterday, but when I left at 3 he was still there & no intrest in him yet. I took him out for quite a while in our community room so he could run. And boy did he run! He ran and barked & ran & ran. He had a great time!
I did find out he was brought in because the family has an autistic child & it was too much for them to care for all their kids, Buddy & the autistic child. So it was through no fault of his own. |
Anyone want a rescue boy in Cleveland? |

Hmmmm. That is a plus if he is used to kids..... When will you be back, and able to take some pics? Reason being, is that he is posted as a mix, but many shelters call them "Mixes" when they are not AKC registered...So I am wondering if he is actually a single-breed sheepie with a lot of grey... |
I work a few hours tomorrow, I will try to remember then. I think he'd be great with kids, as long as they are used to a dog like him. I would not say he's hyper, but he's definately got a LOT of evergy. He also thinks he's a lap dog. I went in his kennel with him & he just kept trying to sit on me. He's really a sweet boy. |
All typical sheepie traits - lap dog, loads of energy. We're all VERY used to these characteristics! |
If we can find a home I can help transport. I am located near Columbus. He sounds like such an angel... |

Well, you know he is at least part sheepie if he throws his butt at you for some rubbin' He sounds like a great dog...hopefully he finds his furever family |
I took a few pics of him today, but cannot for the life of me figure out how to out them on here. So here is the link to my blog page & I'll put them there.

Is he in danger there? |
We do not euthanize for time & space. but he's getting more & more rowdy when he gets time out of his kennel the longer he's in there. I feel so bad for him. |
he looks sheepy to me hope someone gets him out soon |
is ther anyone who can spring & foster? We may be able to take him into oesrnse (it is up to Ingrid)?
We don't have volunteers in that area. sue |
Buddy found a home!!! A couple that owns a local sandwich shop right by us was interested in him & I think they took him home on Friday. I am doing his follow up call so I will check in on him! Yay for Buddy! |
YAY for Buddy!!! |
Way to go Buddy |
Yay for Buddy! Thanks for letting us know |
YAY for BUDDY!!!
I have been so sad that we weren't able to expedite things for him. Please remember to let us know right away if another sheepie is in your care. Thank you so much for keeping us posted, and feel free to hang around even sheepie-less! We're a great community of animal lovers. |
Way to go Buddy, sounds like someone got a great friend.......Kathy |
