Jill & I were going to both leave at 8:00 Friday morning, then I decided to drop Floof off that morning and save a days worth of boarding and then my chiropractor talked me into bringing in freshly groomed Boo that morning - he's not open on Thursdays. He's been clamoring to see him for months now and I'm tired of listening to him. Plus, I figure he could do me bodily harm, LOL, and Boo will probably be shaved down for the summer soon. Yada yada yada. So we're not leaving till 9:30-ish. I figure we'll head straight to George's house and get there around 6:30. Yup, I drive like a maniac. But not in Missouri. After George's party, we'll head to the Super 8 for the hall races. (Does anybody know if they even have halls?) So, when is everyone else planning on arriving? (Good grief - how am I going to get through the next two days?? ) |

Hey, that was my 1200th post!
I bet they send me home early today. |
I am not arriving at all now My husband had knee surgery Dec 28 th and now his knee is all swollen and painful (I had to drive to Philly for the picnic there) He has an appointment thur with his surgeon. I am so bummed, so bummed. I had the suv all packed, Guinness even has a rain suit. In my heart I could not leave the man with a dog on prednisone that has to go out every 3 hrs and is allergic to bees!!! Bob can hardly walk. Did I say I am bummed..................EVERY ONE HAVE FUN !!! Wish I owned a jet so Guinness and I could fly in on friday and fly out on sun. |
4dognight - that is bad news!! Although I sure hope hubby appreciates the sacrifice.
We are leaving here hopefully by 8am. Supposed to be about a 9 hr drive. Add a few stops to eat, potty and stretch..... should be at the motel around 6-7 pm or so. (Super 8 ) Then off to George's. Are we going to have a guide??? I hope so! Please! |
I'm leaving Colorado on Thursday hoping to make it to Topeka for the night. Then, I will head out again Friday morning with a likely pit stop at the Kill Creek Streamway Park in Kansas City on our way out and a stop at the new art museum on the way back.
You can see our route here. The map also includes locations of the activities in St. Louis. We are also staying at the Super 8 and I plan to check in there before heading over to George's Friday night. George -- what time are you expecting us? |

With my GPS, I never get lost. You are welcome to follow me. |
We will not let you get lost! We can't wait to see all of you!
Harry had a mini Sheepiepalooza run last night and he was tired when we came home - of course he got a second wind to play with his new toy from Wolfgangs. |
We are leaving sometime in the middle of the night or early in the morning on Friday and arriving that afternoon. |
I'm figuring anytime from 4pm til... If you're running late call me at 636-227-0169 so I keep the coffee on for you. If you get there before 4, that's OK too, though I might put you to work, but the dogs can play in the yard. |
Since we live just across the river, we will be driving there each day. I've been trying to get Zippy's fur fully clipped, but she's not really making it easy. Normally when we clip her, we clip what she'll allow until she's ready for us to stop.. so it's a long process, but with sheepiepalooza just around the corner I told her she HAS to look pretty. So while it's not the best job, tell her she looks good and that problem will be solved.
We will also be playing the first day by ear because I don't know how her old joints will be able to handle all the excitement. |
No problem we'll be hanging out at a lot of the old joints in St. Louis, so she should feel right at home. |
I plan on leaving around 2am Friday morning. It's a 12 hour drive for me and I would like to be at Super 8 by 2pm. That way I can rest a few hours before going to George's house. |
I just got asked that question a few minutes ago. What time are we/you leaving? This by DH. We have not had any down time for a few weeks and he says he's tired. I say we will leave around 10:00ish and will arrive around 6or 7:00ish. Thats if I drive Gosh I hope Super8 is ready for us!!! |
I was wondering the same thing about the Super 8 . . . I hope we're all in the same area.
Then again, if we're scattered about it will be more entertaining for the non-sheepie guests. Last night, I started piling up the clothes I want to take. I figured if I just left them out on the dresser Boo wouldn't know I was going to pack. WRONG. He's a whirling dirvish this morning. Hee hee, little does he know HE is going to the groomer in 40 minutes. Yeah, I know, it's a wasted effort, but he wanted to look his best for at least 15 minutes. Should we all take "before" pictures? |
I will be thinking about all the fun I will miss.
You guys have a blast! Lots of pics, please. GIVE JOHNNIE B GOOD EXTRA LUV LUV FOR ME!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! She is a good girl. London is going to miss her terribly. Everyone be safe. |
We're planning to leave at noon Friday. We'll gain an hour with the time change between eastern & central. Should end up at Super 8 around 4 p.m. local time.
Can't wait!!! |
Hey, I totally forgot about the time zone change, I'll be there an hour earlier!!
Woo Hoo!! |
I will be thinking of everyone, drive careful and I am doing a sun dance . I am on my way to the orthopedic doctor with my husband. There better be something wrong with his knee for me to miss Sheepiepalooza |
Maybe he will be cured, and you can still come! |
I was going to cross my fingers and hope for something wrong with his knee , but being cured is a much better idea.
Better start packing!! |
Just wanted to say: Everybody have a GREAT time at Sheepiepalooza!!!
Have a safe trip everyone.....I'll be thinking of you, and looking forward to TONS of pictures and wonderful stories! |
Have safe trips and a wonderful time! Maybe next year! Kisses to all! |
I hope everyone has a safe, wonderful sheepie time. Please post lots of pictures. have fun you sheepie lovers |
Have a blast you lot, look forward to seeing lots and lots of photos, even if they are all in raincoats on the day.
Travel safe all and party hard. |
Have a great time you guys!
Cindy, sorry to hear that you won't be attending. I know you were looking forward to going. I hope that Bob's knee gets better soon. |
Everyone have FUN. The doc drew over 50cc's of fluid off of Bob's knee and injected it with lidocaine and cortisone (the needle was hugh ) and gave him an RX for hydrocodone. He sent the fluid to pathology but did not feel it would show anything. He has to use a cane for stability. He feels much better this am and is walking without so much pain. He could not even drive before it hurt so bad. My daughter felt bad I was so bummed she got tailgate tickets to Fair Hill steeple chase races for tomorrow and they are having a patriotic tail gate decorating contest so I will pull my 4th of July decorations out and see what I can come up with. (I would much rather be walking in St Louis wearing Mardi Gras beads with Guinness and the rest of the sheepies) I could not convince Bob to hop in the car and take the extra room..........Everyone drive careful and take lots of pictures. |
I am glad Bob is fairing better.
We will miss you Cindy but will have a drink in your and Guinness' honor. |
The SheepieFest! people are wishing the Sheepiepalooza people a wonderful, mavelous time! Wish we could have joined you, but just having returned from a 14 day vacation, we just couldn't. Enjoy yourselves and each other. Belly rubs to all the sheepies from us!!!!!!!! |
Gosh....Its gonna be a QUIET weekend around here! |
