My Daughter, Fred and I headed upstairs to bed, everyone in my room. Fred attempted several times to acquire a spot on the bed, to no avail as I launched all 70 lbs. of him off of the bed. I hate getting into wrestling matches with the wonder pup. He always tries to assert dominance with me when my husband is away. I can tell from these displays that he views my husband as the pack leader but, I know better. At 4:30am in the morning, I lay fast alseep in bed and then I was awakened by a flying ball of fur that landed directly on top of me. My heart stopped for a moment as I thought I was being attacked. Then I realized my villain had terrible breath and a wet beard. It is hard to go back to sleep with a bobtail blanket on the bed rustling all of the covers. I hated doing this as I know that Fred was sad and he could not sleep, alas Fred spent the rest of the night in the hall upstairs. Anyone else have experiences with the fur kids like this when members of your pack travel? |

Ahahahahaha!
Great story telling! Thank you for sharing that with us! I know the moping dog well. |
Oh yes! Simone does the same thing, stand by the front gate or front door waiting for my DH to come home. When he travels, she'll keep vigil for about 2 hours then give up. She also doesn't eat well when he's gone.
Simone and DH sleep together. When he's gone I go sleep in that bed. MO is confused, sleep on "daddy's " side or her normal spot. We work it out. Of course this means the dogs who normall sleep with me are now confused and debate getting onto the bed with me.....usually they cluster around the bed. |
My husband is home with the sheepies during the day - he said that everyday around 6 all 4 sheepies will go and sit by the sliding glass patio doors until I finally get home. He thinks they all want to tell me about the trouble they got in that day. |
that's possible |
