slide in range with grill

Does anyone have any info on a duel fuel slide in range with one side a grill?
We are thinking of replacing our cooktop with this . Are they worth the price? Easy to clean ect.
Right now I have a 2 oven wall unit and a cooktop in my island.

Thanks for any input. :D

The grill is what I am asking about. It has a downdraft

Yes -- we use to have one of those by Jenn-Air. I thought the grill was a great feature but my brother was the one who had to clean it. 8O

You can actually swap out the grill with normal burners -- they are interchangeable modules. It doesn't just have the one configuration.

You can see them here:

I don't know about dual-fuel, but we have a Jenn-Air electric cooktop with the grill. It's a huge pain in the butt to clean. Our gas grill is only a few steps away on the patio so we always use it. Even in winter it's well worth freezing to death vs. cleaning the stove.

We've put a griddle module in where the grill was to make pancakes and french toast, etc.. Much easier to care for.

Another thing with the smooth surface cooktop on our stove is that most cookware actually hangs over the cooking surface. To prevent that you would have to get the raised burner module. Since I rarely cook, it isn't a huge problem for me but would probably be for you, Chef Deana.
This is Joe, Wynette's hubby....(and personal chef!)

Just my 2cents....

Any grill produces lots of smoke, I recommend a large range hood with a good blower, 1000cfm or better, downdrafts are not the greatest at this...(smoke rises)and need outside venting to be at their best. Not so easy on an Island with a concrete slab floor.

Also grilled foods catch light the easiest (grease flare up) and can start a fire in the hood so recommend "vent a hood" or equivalent type.

Personally you would get more use from burners and a griddle, with a weber bbq outside for smoking.

I don' t have one, always thought it would be a wonderful thing but my girl friend has one and says pretty much the same thing. Actually I spoken to a number of people who have them and they all agree that the aggravation cleaning the grill is not worth the convenience.
My parents just moved into a house with a range that has a grill on it and they use it all the time. They line the inside with foil so it can just be lifted out and greatly reduce the cleaning time. It's funny that they use it so much, since they live in Southern California where they could be outside grilling all the time...
I have the Jenn-Air as well, HAD to have the grill...have never used it . Installing the downdraft stuff is costly, for me it was almost as much as the range
