I am going to take him to the vet of course. Just want to ask for the Forum's wisdom. thx, sue |

It could be a hormone inbalance sue causing the leak.
Spayed bitches and older castrated males can suffer from incontinence due to the loss of hormones secreted by the ovaries and testes respectively. In cases with the older males , hormone replacement therapy using testostrone in dogs will control the problem. If it is this then a correct, acurate dosage by a vet is needed as overdosage in a male can lead to agressive or hypersexual behaviour. A lower uti problem, a growth on the bladder, quite a multitude of different things to cause a leaky dog. So best to take a clean urine sample to the vets also when you go so they can test that for possible causes for his leak. |
Yep, my first thought was a UTI and second was hormones. There are various doggie diapers, but I suspect the vet can fix your friend up quickly. |
Corky has an appt Monday. Will let you all know. thx, sue |
My vote is the UTI. Had a male before with the same exact symptoms. |
Vet put Corky on Proin. Same dose a Shelby, I asked if I could buy a case & saved $200. He feels that should work. A urine sample was taken to be sure. sue |
Hope the leak settles down for corky now |
