Belgium Work Culture - Insight Please

I started my new job and I will be working very closely with two counterparts in Brussels, Belgium. I have some experience in working with folks globally, but not as such a close part of my team. I'd like to make as smooth of a transition as possible.

Does anyone who lives in/near Belgium or works with anyone from that part of the globe have advice on work place culture? I've had a few phone conversations and they are very pleasant and articulate. Is the work place in Belgium more formal than in America or does it just seem like it because our native languages are different?

If anyone has any insight, it would be greatly appreciated! :D

Thanks, Lisa! I just sent her a PM. XOXO
I just want to say that I've been working with my counterparts in Belgium and they are WONDERFUL! Very diligent and hard working people. My two team members came to the US all last week. We were stuck in a room writing policies and procedures and actually had a good time. I'm learning a lot from them about living in Belgium, our similariities and differences. It's nice to meet your coworkers face to face :D

I'm looking forward to going to Belgium (not the plane ride though) in the near future. However, I do need to wait for my passport which I applied for a few weeks ago. Who knows how long that will take.

I had to apply for an expedited passport since I'll be traveling before the 16 weeks that they said it would take. They told me 6 to 8 weeks for the expedited one so I spent the extra money to get it. I got it in under 10 days! It made me wonder if the non-expedited one would also be a heck of a lot faster than they said. We share the same passport processing office so I would assume we run similar times.

Yeah, I had to get a passport back in the spring and they were saying that with all the troubles, I had better do expedited, so I did. I got mine in about a week. Hubby got his in maybe 3. His brother barely got his before the trip--almost 8 weeks or something like that! I wonder if it's just random if it takes a long or short time.

That's cool that you'll be able to go to Belgium!
