Has anyone heard of Urban Wolf food? Or Orijen? Thanks, Diane |

Have not heard of them but "Eagle Pack" has a great Holisitic Variety of dry food. |
Hi, I feed my dogs Canidae and have great results with it. I was looking at one of the recent "rate your dog food test" posted recently and it rates Canidae among the top dog foods out there. I was recently talking with my vet regarding cooking for my dogs, due to the recent dog food scare, and she recommends against the raw or homecooked meals. She said unless the dog is being served a truly balance meal it can cause more harm than good. I also find Canidae to be reasonable in price compared to other top brands out there. I used to feed my cats Felidae, the feline version of this food, but have found that my cats prefer Eagle Pac. I am still researching the raw diets, but for now will continue to use Canidae. |
Is there a site with this dog food rating? I'd like t read it...
Yes, I agree about the home made diets. I have a puppy and am worried he may nt get the proper nutrition if I cook the meals. The Urban Wolf is a combination...they supply a package of all necessary vitamins, etc and you mix your own meat in...But I just don't know much about the company... I am loking into the Candae also. Use their biscuits and love them. My concern now is anything chicken based...JUst read they have found 20 million chickens who ate the tainted feed... |
Do you subscribe to Whole Dog Journal? I think it would help you out a lot-- especially the reviews of their top holistic foods. They include an ingredient list and content percentages, too. |
Ashley, I have the "rate your dog food" in my favorites but for some reason when I call it up it says "webpage cannot be found". I am not sure where I found it, but if I come across it again I will definitely post the link. |

hehehe... ain't it true! We started Eagle Pack Holistic Select fish dry formula back on April 16th and mine are doing very well on it so far. Home cooking for 6 dogs for a few weeks was extremely time consuming. We wanted an holistic food that had the best chance of not have any "issues" due to the recall. So far, so good. The kids say, "Thanks Auntie Diane (3shaggies)! We're using the Anchovy/Oatmeal and will try the Duck formula in the next few weeks. They really like the dry kibble and Holistix Biscuits. |
