Dog Constipation - What should I do?
I gave her some canned pumpkin this morning, but she threw that up. I tried googling Dog Constipation, but i didn't find too many useful tips. This site mentions you can give her Grape-Nuts Flakes. Do you think that's true? safe? Would it help? Someone else mentioned to me that you can give her a prune or two, and that would also 'flush' her out pretty quickly. But I am hesitant too, because I don't want to hurt her in any way. If anyone could give me any constipation relief tips, suggestions or advice, it would be really appreciated. It would help her be comfortable. Thank you. |

If she's been stuck for a while, personally I wouldn't try giving anything by mouth at all, including food, until after you see the vet tomorrow. You really don't want more pushing up against the blockage. Hopefully The vet will have a quick solution for you. I don't think the vet would mind taking a call from you in advance of tomorrow's appointment. Call and ask what you should do, and let us know what they say! Again, Welcome. |
