The Big Week
My awesome neighbor has offered to let the pups out when he gets home from work at 3:30-4:00. I didn't want to take advantage of how wonderful he is so we try to limit when we ask him for help. He knew I started my new job very soon which was further from home and offered his services. Gosh, I'm so lucky to have him! So, until we get more organized with my new schedule or decide we need a more "permanent" dog walker, Bob is our lifesaver!  |

| In all my years in corporate America, not once did I ever even THINK about what I was going to wear for my badge photo, nor had I ever even considered that others might think about it! LOL
Guys just wear a suit, y'know? Good Luck! Sign your W-4 and your I-9 once for me! |

Thanks everyone! Today was just orientation which was actually very informative. I've been to way too many of those and this was by far the best, most thorough and well prepared presenters. I was able to leave early so I'm home now. It's going to be very difficult adjusting to a longer commute and "normal" work day hours..and not visiting the forum all day 
Yes, I had today's and tomorrow's outfits all picked out (both are in purple). They wouldn't let me do my badge today as it will be a different security system where I'll be at. I also must remember not to put my hair up in any shape or fashion. For some stupid reason I wore my hair up for my driver's license. It looks like I have a beehive  |

Well, my ID came out alright. I seem to look older in the picture than I have in the past. All these jobs must be aging me  The commute really wasn't too bad. Bad part was getting too and from the tollway.
Today was my first official day on the new job. One of the first things I did was hang up pictures of the pups and the OES forum calendar Of course people are already commenting on them and my manager started to introduce me as the new person with two gorgeous sheepdogs She mentioned she had one many years ago, but we kept getting distracted when I tried to ask her about him. I do know his name was Pirate just like Debcram's sheepie.
I have a bunch of policies and procedures to read and still need to get access to some computer programs. Everyone seemed very nice (of course, it was my first day). A former coworker from a company before my last one works there as a contractor. It was so nice to see a friendly familiar face! We always talk about our doggies..she has a Shih Tzu named Oreo. I'll keep you posted. |
So glad the new job has started off well! 
I always feel so much better after the first day, the fear of the unknown is gone!

| Phew!!! My first week has been successful...I think! I'm trying to pick up everything I can. I haven't used this brain in over a year so it hurts Steve has reminded me several times that I can't know what to do in just a week's time. I can't???
I sure hope I can deliver on what I've promised to be able to provide the team. They confirmed that I'll be back next week so I must not have stunk that much
I miss the forum all day though which makes me sad. I can't keep up |
