Now with Chumley on Deramaxx, I was wondering the same thing . . . |
I've ordered from 1-800-petmeds and it has been great. Experation dates good, things like that. They have to call your vet to verify weight, etc of your dog and they wouldn't send me any medication until after the vet call - I thought that was good.

I am not convinced that internet medication sites are safe, and believe me I am the QUEEN of internet buying. I have read articles about counterfeit medications on those sites. My Vet "claims" that you are not getting the same flea medication there that you get at the office, that much of it is manufactured outside the country and not to the same standards.
I don't know if it is true or not. But I figure that part of the extra cost of medication from the Vet is for the "after the sale" support. Anytime I have a question or problem I can call them. I would discuss it with your Vet. |
I would agree with Ginny! Though if it is something like Heartworm meds and it comes in a reputable companies original packaging, that would be great! It would be the same thing. But I would imagine there is a fear of self medicating, so vets would tend to not want you to order whatever on the internet, but it is good they call your vet, I wonder if all the sites do that? Probably not, that's a little scary! As for Heartguard, Sentinel...etc keep in mind your vet probably gets a little kick back for every box sold. So they probably wouldn't want you to get it from else where. |
