Val and several others mentioned that it may be a pain issue. I called Carrie at Alameda East (such a sweetheart) and - as always she called me right back! Spoke with her about Max's progress and some questions- and she confirmed that it could be a pain issue. She suggested a few excercises to "loosen" the spine- and also help with the balance issue- which she thinks may be causing the pain. We have an appt. tomorrow for laser - and - doc is going to do a few range of motion tests to check pain levels- and then go from there. It has been so hard to determine the pain level for Max- because there is NO outward response at ALL. No nipping, no barking, no looking back at his hind quarters if we are hurting him during excercises... just kisses no matter what. I'm glad we asked about the hunched back - as luck would have it- he has never done it at the vets, so he was unaware. Shame on us for not being on top of it and thinking "Pain" Again-- Carrie/Alemeda East - Val - Chummie- The Forum responses.... So VERY much appreciated and so helpful in Max's ongoing recovery and saga!! Lori |

Hopefully they help- between the stretching exercises and his treatment. Max sounds like the sweetest boy! |
I wish I had Carrie here in Texas and that B would kiss me after me trying to pick her up. She seems to blame me for the operation. No kisses do I get then. What about Your dog's balnce? B seems to lose hers at times. |
Hugs to Max!! |
Ahhhh Max, sounds like the sweetest! I wish they could talk and just say, "Hey, my back hurts!" |
