Just a thought for you and anyone driving in from the east via I-70. Rather that going through East St. Louis and downtown St. Louis, Take I-270 the circumferential route around the area to I-44, then go west to your motel. By all means avoid I-64/US 40 which is under construction for the next 3 years. However if you're coming in from the West or Northwest (KS, MN) come in I-70 and at the Wentzville exit Take I-64/US 40 to I-270 to I-44. (If you are venturesome and want to save time coming in on I-64/Us 40: get off at US 340 (Clarkson Rd) in Chesterfield, go S. on 340 to Manchester (US 100). Jog west on Manchester one block to Old State Road (next lighted intersection) follow that to where it ends at Hwy 109 (about 3 miles), go left on 109 to I-44 (3 miles) and take the North service road to either Super 8, Econolodge, or Holiday Inn. You'll save about 20 miles.)) |
