For between the toe pads we use clippers. They are just a cheap pair of human clippers (meant for beards, sideburns, etc.) and they are very small. The blade is very narrow - approx. 1 inch wide. With clippers you use a scooping motion between the pads.

We also have a pair of scissors that we used to use between the pads that are handy for any delicate trimming. They are an "ear and nose shear". 4.5" straight scissors with rounded tips.

For bum trimming, I just use a large pair of regular household/kitchen scissors. Sometimes it looks a little choppy, but it just needs to be functional since we aren't showing. The better choice for a bum trim is a large pair of thinning shears, as they are better for blending and will hide any mistakes.

We also use a large pair of better quality clippers with a comb attachment to trim some of the belly area above the genitals, since we have a male in full coat.... keeps things cleaner.
I have a set of clippers and just human hair scissors...probably from Target. They are good enough for trims between grooming appointments.
