GOODBYE TO UNWANTED PIECES OF EDGAR!

HEHEHE

He has his appt. tomorrow at 8:30 in the morning to get his balls chopped off. RAAAHAHAHA. Ok so can you tell I'm happy. He has been being a royal pain in the butt lately with all he supposed HE-MAN wannabe crap he has been pulling.

I'm a little worried about the operation. Guess I just wish it was over with already. We have been telling Edgar each day how may days left until CHOP CHOP.

I know. I am worried about that. He has been very bad lately trying to be boss. It's so frustrating sometimes. I am really REALLY hoping that this will knock some of that out of him.

We should. Edgar would love that so much. Basically the cats and us are rather low rated when it comes to playing with Panda and Bailey.

Sure as heck would knock some of it out of me...

Good luck, buddy!

Don't expect much behavior change right away, it takes a while for the hormones to leave his body. I think my vet said it took about a month....I don't know...Merlin still behaves like he still has his
Good luck Edgar......
Good luck to Edgar! Big hugs to all! :ghug:
Nothing like a bunch of women talking nonchalantly about a man's balls.
Wishing Edgar lots of luck for his surgery and a quick recovery.

Buff was listening with his hormones instead of his brain until 3-4 weeks after the surgery. He's much more enjoyable now.

Ha Ha that is funny. My husband feels slightly bad for him. But I wouldn't quite say its talking about mans balls because I refuse to think of Edgar as a man.

So I dropped him off. I hope it goes okay. I mean they do this all the time so he shouldn't die right.

I suppose accidents do happen. If I get a call that says "Sorry Mrs. Johnson there was an accident in the ball chopping procedure and we somehow cut off a back leg" I might freak.
I'm sure he's fine - but we'll be waiting to hear the update as soon as you pick him up.

ROFLMAO.....if this happens you know that maybe you should choose another Vet. I hope Edgar is feelling alright today; I have been watching the thread for updates. Fred needs to have the same thing done soon too and I feel a pang of guilt about the matter.
I am thinking of edgar this morning. Guinness said to tell him it's a piece of cake!!!! He dosen't miss them at all.........
Bailey sends big sloppy kisses to Edgar! Bailey was a bit loopy when he got home from the anesthesia but he was back to normal by the next day and didn't bother the stitches much at all. I hope everything went well!
Edgar--how'd it go?
I had just caught the flu and scheduled the boys' neutering appointment thinking that it would give me a few days to be sick and recover...WRONG! Those two puppies acted like nothing ever happened.
Well he was really out of it last night. It made me feel so bad for him. Today, well, he doesn't want to walk. As soon as he tries to stand up he whimpers and lays down frantically licking and chewing at the stitches. So now I feel extra bad for him. :( He hasn't gone to the bathroom today. Due to the standing up issue he is having.

My husband said that he got him to drink a ton of water this morning and eat some food so that made me feel a little better. I can't seem to get him to drink or eat anything for me. :? I know that it is all for the best getting him fixed and that he will feel better soon. But oh boy do I feel guilty at the moment. Like I just inflicted something bad on him.
Ahhh - poor baby. Give him some kisses and let us know how he continues to go . . .
Panda sends Edgar her biggest and wettest kisses......till she can get ahold of his neck 8O
:( :( :( This doesn't sound right ... if it's not better in the morning you should talk to the vet -- at the least for some pain medication.

:( :( :(
He has pain medication that he is on. I think I will call the vet right now and see what they think.
Call right away. Harry's procedure bothered him too and they gave him some sedatives for me to give him in addition to the pain medicine. I think he had a stitch pulling and took him back the next day. I don't think they found anything but he was miserable the first 24 hours and I was glad to have something to keep him calm until the misery subsided.
Well they seemed to think it probably wasn't something horrid going on. But that if he was still like this tomorrow then I was to bring him in. They will probably look at him and tell me he is fine and that he is a big baby. But it just seems weird him not being able to walk without him falling over in pain.
I hope he's feeling better really soon.
Hope you're feeling better soon Edgar. Mom said I have to have the same operation soon!!! psssstttttttt shhhhhhhhh play the sympathy card it works great lots of treats :-)
Are you sure he is falling down from the pain..o.r could it be he is still feeling the effects of the general anesthesia? It could take 24 hours before all the anesthesai is completely out of the system...hopefully is not pain...hope edgar feels better soon...
No its not the anesthesia. He is very with it today and alert compared to yesterday.

The vet gave us some more pain meds he can take that will make him drowsy. That and he now has an e-collar on so he really is a picture of patheticness. We're not sure yet if he has figured out where his butt went since he got the collar on. :)

Now I'm feeling hugely guilty because I referred you to my vet  I sure hope everything is OK!
I'm sure he is OK  By the sounds of it, I am sure he just has a stich pulling tightly. They swell up after so that could be causing a bit of a bother to him and as he stands just niggling him enough to cause discomfort.

Pain meds will help and the collar awww now watch he does not go bumping around into walls etc.

Give him a gentle hug from us. :D
Poor Edgar. We hope you are feeling alot better soon.
Woohoo! Edgar peed!! :D He hadn't gone in two days 8O. He has yet to poo so maybe he will do that on day three  . He still doesn't walk right but he has been eating and drinking.

Buff did the same thing, stand, grimace, drop, lick. Each day he did it less frequently. It went on for a week. The vet checked him and said nothing was wrong, just sore.

YAY! Poor Edgar. I hope he's back to his old self (less a few pieces) soon!
Hurrah for Pee and poo!!! :yay:

Get well soon Edgar! :D
Poor Edgar! Hope he gets better quickly!
Hope you are on the road to recovery. Its strange how much you watch the pee and poop when you know that are not feeling well.
Give Edgar a big hug. :ghug: :ghug:

When Bogart had this surgery, he could not walk without
dropping down to the floor. We had him rechecked and
the vet said

8O the sutures are sometimes too tight 8O

give it time.  Easy for him to say, since
he doesn't do the walks for potty break.

Time did heal everything, then the new problem
was a new OESman in the house---------
zoooooom....................running around like a madman.

Hope Edgar get well soon!
Yes I think it must have been a stitch pulling him. That or he wasn't sure what was going on with his butt. Thanks for all the well wishes everyone. While he is still wearing his cone head he is back to himself zooming around the house. This Thursday he has an after neuter check up at the vets. I'm sure they will pronounce him fine.

If they can catch up to him.................
Hmmm..........the vet recommended rubbing vasoline or neosporin onto Edgars scab to help losen it up so it will fall off. Guess it was rather thick and crusty. 8O I wonder if I can convince my husband to do that. 8) Could be a male bonding moment. Somehow I doubt it though. SIGH. It's always me who gives him a bath and feels disturbed when I wash his man dog areas.

LOL! I feel that way too...
