Are all tail dockings illegal now, or is it just for certain breeds? |

It is only illegal to dock tails & crop ears in certain countries. In US it is up to breeders. Breed club breeders in US, follow the US breed standards, and will continue to dock tails. The most recent countries to ban docking/cropping is the United Kingdom, but they do allow certain breeds to still be docked. Any terrier breeds or spaniels. Not sure why they still allow those breeds, but I'm assuming that the breed clubs somehow proved that it was important for the breed to be docked. |

That just does not seem fair at all. |
It has to do with those breeds hunting. They believe that they could injure themselves in the field if they were to have their tails.
Another thing that has to do with certain breeds is the number of dogs that you are allowed to have before you are a "kennel" I believe that the number is 24? A pack of hunting dogs is 23 so you are allowed to have 23 + 1. Some rules are so funky. |
but a doberman isnt a hunting dog, its a guard dog....what makes the difference if they have tails or not???? |
So my question still stands....do they still dock dobermans tails in the UK or not?? |
No Dobermans are starting to appear in the Uk with tails!!! |
I think its all working dogs in the Uk from the 7th april docking is not allowed. I found this!
