Dumb question...Is there a puppy season?

This might be a really dumb question, but is there a 'season' for puppies where more puppies are usually born, or is it just random whenever the mom goes into heat (or do they all go into heat at specific times during the year)?

I remember as a kid my mom saying things like it's kitten season (in the spring) where there were more kittens available at shelters and pet stores. Is this true?

Interesting question.... I wonder if puppy season is Christmas time??
I definitely hear of more pups being born in late winter, early spring.
Interesting - I definitely hear of more puppies born during the first half of the year as opposed to last half too . . . :lmt:
I always thought there were more puppies and puppies were sold more in the summer due to demand (nice weather, yards, etc). ...that was just what I thought though. Interesting to know it is the opposite!
In Alaska, It seems to be late October....Permanent Fund Dividend time!
