Poor baby! Sounds like post traumatic shaved sheepie disorder! She is probably recovering from all of the recent changes, being away from home, and then being shaved. Hopefully she will be back to herself in a day or two.
Sending her hugs from her bald sheepie buddy, Oscar. |

LOL!!!!!!!! Poor sheepie!! But not to worry, she'll adjust. I'm sure she just feels "odd". |
Bless her heart
Nellie just feels naked How about putting a t-shirt on her or a sweater if you're still in cold temps! Diane |
Our Ollie ran and hid from Todd after he got shaved the 1st time. Usually he ran to meet him when he got home from work. Instead, he hid. He got used to it, and was actually very happy and bouncy after haircuts after that - once he knew the routine.
I would be very upset with the boarding/grooming place you left her, however! |
It's not strange for them to act this way after being shaved alone - but combined with boarding it sounds well within "normal" parameters. She probably does feel just "odd" without her hair - much like we would if we suddenly had all our long hair cut off. I'd suggest a sweater for now. She will soon get used to her new look/feel and be her normal bouncy self. |

Remember the quote, "I'd feel "naked" without my hair!" I think they act like they're embarrased. I know I would be if someone shaved me down like that. All of mine use to act that way the first couple times they had it done. After that I think they got to where they looked forward to it because of the summer heat. Just make sure you always have her shaved or trimmed (if you're going to) early enough in the spring/summer, that she has time to grow a coat for winter. Another thing to remember is that they can get sunburned after being shaved. They can also go through a somewhat "itchy" phase as it starts tp grow back in, sort of like we do on certain parts of our bodies. mouthypf (who forgot to sign in - again) Give her a little extra attention and she'll soon forget she has no hair. |
I'd put it down to the shaving too - when Ollie was shaved he was really quiet for a few days - he's bouncing around fine now, so just give it time. |
Yep.....necked sheepie syndrome |
Is she doing any better yet? |
TOOOOOO funny---I had no idea, but you all were right! She is back to her old self again. She cracks me up, she is so dramatic! Thanks for the replies, I was about to call a doggy head doctor! Stacey |
Glad to hear she is back to her old self.
These are such funny dogs, with amazing personalities. |
