He hadn't, so this is the story he then tells me. He walks to work after school thru a residential area, and often hears a young dog barking in a particular back yard that is on his route. On this one day he spotted a little husky puppy roaming the street, all by himself...not a soul around. He called the pup and approached it, but the little fellow ran off. Then he remembered how I showed him when teaching a dog "Come" you can run away and they will chase you. So he called the pup, and ran off...Sure enough the pup raced after him....but stopped in front of the house where Spencer would often hear barking. Spencer then was able to get the puppy, and he knocked on the door. No answer. He knocked again, and still no response. He was pretty sure it was the puppy's house so he checked the door knob and it was unlocked. He opened the door slightly and called "Anyone home?" and there was no answer. So he put the puppy in the house, shut the door and went off to work. I laughed so much thinking about all the "what if's".... It is a fairly new area, and I am sure that even if it wasn't the right home the people on the street would know where he lived...But Spencer was pretty sure it was, as the puppy seemed to know his house. |
