Scarlet is in her new home!
It is So cold today so we all sat in my car and visited a bit before going on our way. Scarlet peed in the crate before we took off for home and then on the way home poor little thing threw up. We got her home, washed her little feet and let her explore... Then we let Avalon in...poor Scarlet...Avalon didn't know WHAT this thing was in her house and ran for Scarlet....Avalon scared the pee and poop right out of Scarlet.....and Scarlet scared Avalon LOL....then we sat down together and let the 2 dogs sniff each other....Then Avalon went outside and we let Merlin in.... Merlin approached Scarlet very carefully sniffed her and walked away....he looked at me like "ARE YOU KIDDING ME? ANOTHER ONE?" I then put Scarlet in the crate and all 3 dogs came inside...they are getting to know each other thru the crate first. Scarlet howls  , that sets off the other 3...some barking some howling.....When Scarlet cries...Avalon comes and barks at me...."mom that thing is making noise" and Merlin comes to me and cries....
Should be an interesting day here....I'll try and capture as many pics as I can

I just want a video of the howling.  Sounds sooooooo cute. I am so excited for you. You got my favorite pup, and she is just a beauty!!!!! I'm glad you got her, and I can't wait to see her grow up.  |

| Things are progressing nicely. Scarlet has been out of the crate for most of the afternoon. I am leaving the doors open so she can go in and out at will. She is so smart, she knows that it is her bed and goes in there when she gets tired.
For now I am paper training her, its just so cold here still to be taking her out side to potty. She knows to use the paper and so far has used the paper when she needs to go. Avalon is not quite sure yet of her. Avalon barks at Scarlet and when both went to get the same toy, Avalon barked and Scarlet just went into the crate and layed down. I am reprimanding Avalon for barking at the puppy, but should I just let them sort it out? Avalon is not being overly mean, just her bully self 
My kids are IN LOVE with Scarlet...she loves the kids too...she is so happy to just follow us around the house....and best thing is NO accidents...she goes right to her papered spot. Stacey did a wonderful job with these pups. |

If I were you I wouldn't be reprimanding Avalon for barking at her. It is annoying, to say the least, but maybe distract her, or ask her to come to you or sit or put her into a down/stay or something if she carries on. That way she will start to think...Gee, whenever I bark at her I am told to lay down....Instead of "Gee, everytime that thing is close to me my mom gets mad at me. Scarlet is new to Avalon, and barking is her way of saying "What the heck is that?" or "Come on..Let's go play" or "Get the heck out of my house"......You pick...
You want Avalon to think that Scarlet is a wonderful thing to be around....not something that gets her into trouble. You might even give Avalon some special attention, and treats when Scarlet is out and about....BEFORE she starts to bark...She'll settle down eventually....Like in months...

Things are great, she is such a good puppy. House training is going much faster than I anticipated. Most of the time she lets me know she has to go potty. She sleeps right thru the night unless she has to potty and then its back to bed without a whimper until morning. Avalon and Scarlet play constantly, they are getting along wonderfully. Faith will also play..Merlin still wants her to go back to Stacey's place
When she wants to chew something she shouldn't I tell her no and she listens! And she is recognizing her name, she will come when called. She is SUCH a sweet girl, we are so lucky to have her |
