Well, this morning the girl I watch told me it was crazy last night (easily from 6pm-6a.m.). She said cops came asking people if they had seen 2 kids. I forgot how old.... 4-6. It was in the neighborhood right after ours (same street)... apparently a babysitter let them outside without the parents permission for 10 minutes while she finished cooking... and they were gone by the time she came out!!!!! This of course makes me question her leaving them outside for just 10 minutes... Hopefully they find/found them! The cops were driving around all night. I also heard that the father was driving around like a MANIAC... leaving tire marks all over all the streets, including ours trying to find his kids. Considering there are always children in the streets here, I'd be pissed. Our streets are pretty narrow. Anyway, that was random... just sharing. If you read this liz (ravenmoonarts friend), it was in the neighborhood you were asking me about in chat). Now I'm off to help a friend move. Ugh... |

That's awful!
I think anyone who is missing a child would drive around like a maniac... and if people know kids went missing I certainly would have my kids in my home and close to me, not running around outside. |
GOOD GRIEF Joah!.....
Maybe when Mr. J is home....some house-hunting???? |
You have my sympathy, neighbors can make or break the neighborhood! |
Wow - never a dull moment, huh?
Don't you know the parents are SICK about hiring that babysitter?? I hope the kids are okay. |
Weird. |
Did they find the children? |
That babysitter is my worst nightmare. I am super protective concerning my daughter's whereabouts. You really can't let your kids play in the street these days anymore; it's just not a safe world. |

I've never left my daughter with a babysitter, except family. It's stories like these that really makes me nervous. It is so hard to find someone that is trustworthy. |
I haven't asked around if they found the kids. I've been gone all day too, so if something happened, I don't know.... |
I hope they find them safe, and soon.
You can't be too careful. A few years ago while at my SIL house, her 3 granddaughters (ages 4 - were playing in her driveway. In a very (what you think is a) safe, middle class neighborhood. There were 6 adults in the house when the girls came running in very confused and scared. They said a car just pulled up in front of the house and asked if they knew "....." , and would they go with them to show them where she lived. (Was 2 or 3 men in the car). Thank God these 3 had had it hammered in their heads enough about strangers, that they quickly ran into the house. By the time they told the story the car was long gone. The three men drove around a little trying to find it, but had no luck. They were home, with mom, dad, g-ma, g-pa, an aunt and uncle. No babysitter in their story. Sometimes you can have the best supervision in the world and someone can yank one of our babies right out of our hands. You just can't take you "eyes" off of them. What a horrible shame it is that they can't enjoy the same childhood we did. |
oh no, I hope they find the kids soon. My two still aren't allowed out without constant supervision. Jake will be 6 in June, and I don't see that changing anytime soon. |
