just fixed, bright pink belly???

So some of you might know that we got Boomer fixed about five days ago. His incsion looks good, but a scab has developed just above it and his stomach, which is normally white, is bright pink. It is in the high 20's and mid 30's, so it is super cold. They are in the garage with beddings and stuff.

My thinking this is normal, but i just wanted to check. The Vet won't be open until Monday and i called the animal er but they will only tell me to bring him in for a "consultation", they won't tell me anything over the phone.

so you guys thing this is normal or should i be concerend. When i looked at my other dogs underbelly, she was al ittle pink too but not as bright as him....he is lower to the groud though.

Do you have a picture of it? Is it possible where the stomach was shaved you can just see more of his actual skin which is pink?
Hi,

Usually any redness in a recent incision or wound is a sign of infection but very difficult to say without seeing it. If he appears lathargic, or develops a temperature I'd say take him to the vet asap. He could also be licking it quite a bit possibly?

Gentle belly rubs to Boomer and hope it's nothing. Please keep us posted.
