Happy reading through the numerous helpful (and sometimes humorous) posts. If you have a question you can't find an answer to - ask away!
Good luck with your fostering! |
Welcome!
I have two tips for you. Make sure you have some good brushes on hand..... and a good sense of humor. These guys are so funny. |
...and every moment you aren't spending on pampering your puppy and taking pictures, you should be reading and posting here!

Welcome and best of luck with your new adventure!!!! |
Just wanted to say thanks for fostering. Rescue needs all the foster parents they can get. |
As a mommy of two boys adopted from rescue, I'd recommend a couple quick things - one a pocket full of little treats goes a long way and two if necessary, keep the leash on in the house until you're used to each other. I like rewarding my boys at random for good behavior. Lots of petting and "good boys" help too. I don't give treats every time, but they're always told how good they are. Something else, that isn't always easy, is to try and ignore the 'accidents' as much as possible, especially at first.
Most importantly, if you have any questions or concerns - read and post. I've found help for problems I didn't even realize I had - this is where I learned about the 'gentle leader' for walking. |
