I think we all have had at least one awful school picture. I know for me, it was way more than one. |
| Hah! One year, my mother decided I would look cute in a perm. My early childhood curls had disappeared and she wanted them back. So she had my aunt, who had gone to beauty school, perm my hair. My mother didn't like the results, so she decided I'd look great in a pixie haircut. I was fairly irritated since my hair had gotten pretty long and I was getting pretty good at keeping it relatively neat and tangle free. But no, Mom liked doing things to hair (she said with hair, but the results spoke for themselves, at least where I was concerned.
My 4th grade picture has me in that dried out pixie cut, with a big ole chunk of hair sticking straight out. No, there are no existing copies that I am aware of, so I won't be posting those. Suffice it to say that it was bad enough that my mother, who adored short hair and curly hair, allowed me to grow mine out after that and do whatever I wanted. Your picture, on the other hand, is a veritable example of childhood feminine beauty. The grin is a little goofy, though. |
