We have come the the conclusion that the kibble must just taste better after it been on the floor for awhile. Well I got a call from his Mom earlier this week that he had maneuvered his dish into the living room and he was in the dog house. Well today we were in store for a new chapter in the eating saga. I was in the shower this morning and I hear Noel ask Milo what he was doing. Then I hear a loud clang. Seems the big stinker has found that he can pick up his dish and he had just came strolling into the living room with it in his mouth and dropped his dish on the rug in front of his Mom. I am convinced that he sees Mom eating breakfast on the couch and just wants to join her. On my way back to Chico I got a call and he had done the same thing with dinner. She said she was on the couch watching TV and he came strolling in with his dish dropped on the floor and laid down and started eating. I told her to use reverse psychology and put his dish in the living room and he would probably move it into the kitchen...or the bedroom?!? I guess it is time for a lead filled dish stand. |

How sweet. It's amazing how they just love to do what there humans do. |
ahhhh I know they shouldn't, but that really is quite sweet |
Sure they want to eat where the pack is!
We have always fed ours wherever we are -- we start to eat first then allow them to eat. Well, maybe I shouldn't say "them". Jake was not nearly as well trained as Mulligan is. With Mulligan we can tell him to Leave It and he will wait until released. With Jake it was put the food down and withdraw the arm quickly so as to retain some flesh. He didn't bite, he was just after that food quickly! Even as I type this, Joan is just feeding Mulligan behind me, and I heard "Leave It..... OK" Ahhh, the sweet sound of routine... and crunching kibble. |
What a smart little sheepie! |
LOL!!! Smart pups!!!
Blue used to do that with his dish but at the time he was always worried Shaggy would steal the last of his kibbles. Your story brought back lots of memories and made me smile. Marianne and the boys |
What a great trick but you might want to make the water bowl the weighted bowl. I could just see the mess that would make if he carried that and dropped it in the living room. |
