Another Bad Groomer Story

Heard this on the news yesterday. A pet owner's worst nightmare.

A woman dropped her pooch off at a groomer in the Leeside area of Toronto. The groomer called to leave a message on her voicemail that the dog was ready. The groomer did not hang up the phone properly....you could hear her in the background getting angry at a dog, and then say "Don't you try to bite me" very upset...then the dog started yelping....It was not a pleasant interaction.

The woman contacted the Toronto Humane Society who commented that it was totally unacceptable...for both in a private home or in a professional place. They are investigating . They played the message over the radio...It was very sad to hear...

That is just awful nicole, I hope they get what is coming to them.

Always makes me wonder what really does go on behind the scenes of some grooming parlours. You often hear of a happy dog going off and coming home anxious or nervous or even worse a dog that died. :(

I am glad I groom my own dogs.
That is just horrible!! 8O
How sad that people treat animals badly, hope they not only investigate but follow through.

I lucked in with a groomer who also has a puppie play group. Dutch is sooo happy to get there she just about pulls my arm of to get inside :D
and most times there is another sheepie for her to play with
I saw that on the news the other night....

terrible...
That is terrible. I figured my groomer must be doing something right as all I have to do is say it's "Beauty Parlor Day" and my dogs are estactic. They love going there.
I guess the Optometrist described in the story below (play video!) and the groomer described above could both benefit from some anger management training.

yeah, Im glad that i groom panda myself....
I would worry about that all the time if I had to drop Bingley off somewhere.
:(
That is terrible, and I hope this person gets what they deserve however that won't alter what they did to the dog and how it will make the dog feel the next time they have to go the groomers even though it will be someone new!

However what we should remember is that for every groomer who is bad, there are many out there who are great with dogs and as owners we have to find the good ones. (though not always easy!)

I took George for a visit to the groomers to see if he liked them and how they were with him. I didn't leave him and it was successful, however if I had been in any doubt I wouldn't go back.
What happened to the dog? Did they ever figure out which dog it was or if there were any injuries?
