I'll have to look up what kind. Yuki is on SD z/d (mixture of that and something else), and I just took her into the vet b/c she's not well. Vet couldn't "see" anything wrong w/her though. |
Is there a website/link to read this info? I went to Menu Foods site, and it wasnt mentioned ... |
I just saw on the news it was cat food (phewww!), but when I came back to post, I saw the original post was edited. Glad this site is on top of it. |
I heard it on our local news at 5 pm and it was also on the news on AOL when I logged on...I know it isn't on the Menu foods site yet. I checked. But gain, this was just broadcast at 5 pm EST...if you hve AOL, click on the news and the story will come up...So far all that is mentioned is the cat food... |
Menu foods does not make any dry so it won't be on their site. |
Do you have any links to info?
As far as I was aware there were no dry foods recalled, but of course Peta wants to recall everything (including the dog or cat of course). |
There is some info on the Hills site. www.hillspet.com
Again, its specific to the dry cat food so far... |
Found it...
http://www.hillspet.com/menu_foods/Menu ... _en_US.htm Only certain ones that contain wheat gluten. |
And their website says the recall was "voluntary" - although the news didn't say that
What's scary also is on the aol news, it said the FDA did not rule out the possibility that the same wheat gluten did not find its way into human food - although they say they have nothing to suggest it did.. But, you know, there was this stomach "virus" going around my area in early february...I had it myself.... |

I think if you ate the wheat gluten that was tainted you would have more wrong than the stomach virus. I was at the vet office yesterday, there was a woman there who said her friend ate some of the tainted food, she was trying to get her dog to eat. Apparently the dog always wants to eat what the owner eats, so she ate some of the dog food first. Now both the owner and the dog are suffering from renal failure. |

OMG!! |
Does anyone have any idea what dry Dog Foods Menu Foods make? |
I don't think Menu Foods made this dry food. But the dry food companyused the same supplier for its wheat gluten. I think that's how the story was reported but I'm not sure. It will be on the news again all weekend I'm sure.
I've taken my dog off everything with wheat gluten in it for now. And Wow, that woman who ate the dog food! Just by tasting it she got renal failure? |
