Here is what AKC states.
Effective for litters whelped on or after July 1, 2000, AKC DNA Profiling is required if a stud dog is classified as a Frequently Used Sire, meaning that he has produced seven or more litters in his lifetime or more than three litters in a calendar year. So yes she would have to do the DNA, when that is back, then she would have to register the litter, then send you the Papers and you in turn will have to send your puppies reg. in so you will have him in your name. I'm sure the breeder will send you the paperwork once the sire is tested. This is a new relatively new thing for the AKC to help regulate |
You said in another post that the breeder was a "nasty nasty backyard breeder". Maybe you won't be getting a reply to your inquiries. Or maybe it's just taking awhile. |
