I would have her thyroid level checked. |
Amen... today my Emma joined the thyroid challenged club. That's 5 out of 6 of my dogs on Soloxine for low thyroid! The youngest any of mine have been diagnosed with low thyroid was 1 1/2 years though we had tested earlier.
http://www.canine-epilepsy-guardian-ang ... isease.htm CLINICAL SIGNS OF CANINE HYPOTHYROIDISM Dermatologic Diseases- dry, scaly skin and dandruff / coarse, dull coat / bilateral symmetrical hair loss / rat tail, puppy coat / hyperpigmentation /seborrhea or greasy skin pyoderma or skin infections / myxedema / chronic offensive skin odor This might be something to discuss with your vet. A dog may only exhibit a few of the symptoms but still have low thyroid. A complete list of other symptoms are at the address above. |
Thank you guys so much. We are going to the vet in the morning. I will bring up the thyroid. Hopefully I can get this resolved. |
Please let us know how your visit with the vet went. I hope they were able to figure out what is causing the hair loss. |
