Most vets recommend about 6 months. |
I need to get Loki in then! I keep hearing different things on this.. some say around a year. Does it make it easier to keep those dominant habits at bay if you do it around 6 months? |
Hard to believe but shelters do the neutering as early as early puppyhood I always liked the 4-6 month time period if I had a choice. I agree with above, by neutering early some of those male tendencies are eliminated. Then there are those who feel the boy should be mature physically first. I can see that, but personally I'd just rather get it over with early on. Plus the older and heavier the dog, the more it costs. |
Personally I would have my dog neutered before 7 months. Merlin started his bad marking habit at around 7 months. He was neutered at one year....he was going to be a stud dog, long story..... Anyway occasionally he will still mark inside the house. ( now everyone knows why I prefer female dogs ) |
