| Well it's FINALLY HERE and IN the living room. It was near disaster and a nightmare. It took over two hours to get it in the house, thank goodness they arrived exactly at 12:30.
The delivery guys told me it was the heaviest couch they had ever delivered (Flexsteel-STEEL FRAME). After struggling through the snow they got it STUCK in the door to the porch, no way was it going to fit. So they decided to take it around back and bring it in through the back door (which is wider). Only problem was the 3 feet of snow all around the house and the mass of ice on the deck (about a foot thick by the door). The three of us shoveled and chopped for almost an hour. Then they had to carry it around the house and up the pretty steep bank and lift it OVER the rail to the deck (stairway too narrow). But they finally got it in. I felt REALLY badly for them, wow what a job!! But I gave them each a hefty tip so I hope it was worth it. I've posted some pictures, when approved HINT HINT HINT, will post them to the thread. Excuse the mess. The old couch is still in the dining room and I didn't realize how much fire and ambulance gear we had hanging on the coat wall til I looked at the pictures 
I'm again tempted to order a couch throw from the lady Val recommended.....might have to go browse the site NOW (after I go sit on it for a few minutes-I haven't even sat down on it yet) |
Wow - that sounds like a furniture delivery person's nightmare! 
So glad you were able to get it in the house and situated to your liking. Now...go lie down on it and tell us how wonderful it is. |

It is VERY VERY VERY comfy..... I jsut might spend the rest of the evening on it. I've already thrown an afghan over the back. I don't think Ty's nails will hurt it but you never can tell. |

| Actually, Tasker has only very rarely gotten on the sofa. When younger he would occassionally sneak up on it when I wasn't home. I would know he was there when I got home because the pillows would be pushed on the fllor. One time I actually caught him on the sofa, he was asleep on his "good ear", the deaf ear up and he didn't hear me come in. He woke up and looked SO GUILTY I couldn't fuss at him.
Now, with the stiffness of advanced age  I doubt he would even try. But not to worry, he will stand for hours next to the couch with his head in your lap so I don't think he feels like he's missing anything!! |
