Large Bump/Mass in Breena's Tummy

Can anyone help me with figuring this out? Breena just got spayed 12 days ago at 4 months old. Today she was playing and rolled on to her back and she has this golf ball size lump (under the skin) around where they did her surgery. She also seems to have a little quarter sized one off of it. This really scares me because she has been feeling icky lately but I just thought it was the UTI ( 2nd one in 4 months) we are going to get meds for morrow. Has anyone ever heard of anything like this happening as a result of the spaying. My vet used to breed sheepies so we love him but could something have gone wrong with the surgery?
You help is appreciated
Danielle

Have you called the vet? It could just be swollen tissue that will go down as it heals, but I'd want to check that with the vet. Does it appear painful to her when you touch it? Maybe just a warm compress on it for awhile. Keep us informed!
I'd call the vet. It might be something normal, or it could be an infected abscess. I'd be sure to mention that she's been feeling icky lately.
We are going to the vet tomorrow and I called the vet and they said they would look at it then. It doesn't seem to hurt her when I touch it. It just looked horrible but maybe it is just really swollen. I will keep you guys posted and thanx for the help.
Thanks for the update; please be sure to let us know how it works out at the vet's tomorrow.
I am glad you are going to the Vet. It could be many things, a hematoma, a abscess, it could be an incisional hernia where the inner suture have given way and allowed the gut to come through to the skin. So glad you have an appointment with your vet
A couple of our girls had what you've described after they were spayed. We had the lumps aspirated and always found them filled with pink-tinged fluid, not blood. We figured they probably had too much activity (it's so difficult keeping them calm for 2 weeks :? ). Just be sure to have the vet check her over tomorrow.
so many things it could be.......hopefully this is just a minor problem. Paige worried (licked and chewed) her stitches after her surgery and forever carried some sizeable lumps underneath. They only bothered me.
How'd it go?
I hope you find an answer.

Happened to my cat. BIG golf ball size bump after she got spayed. Was told the sutures (which were all inside instead of the normal kind) got infected, bubbled up, and the bump is just tissue. It stayed that way for 1-2 years, and it's just now getting to the point that you can't really feel it. Every vet that she's seen said it's nothing to worry about (for my cat) unless something about it changes (gets bigger, she is acting weird, etc).
Yippee :D !!! Breena is fine ( other than a UTI). The bump was from over activity after being fixed. The Vet says he sees it in a lot of playful breeds. He said the bump will go down on its own. I am so glad because I could only think horrible possiblities because of its size and shape. But all is well with her and she is playing like a happy little puppy. I better go she is trying to herd my pant leg to another room as I type. Thank you for all your well wishes and posts.

Happy to hear all is well and she is herding you around!
Yup... it's hard to keep these sheepie-girls calm after a spay.
Glad the news was good... it should just reabsorb over time.
Thanks for the update. :D
Yay! :D
WOOHOO! Glad to hear the good news!
:yay: How relieved you must be :)
