We just adopted Harley from IL!!
I've been hanging around here reading posts for a few weeks, and I think this is a great place to find info and support on raising an OES. I had one when I was little with my parents, but being the responsible adult in the situation is different than having one as a child, so I'm really glad there's so much advice here. Harley is doing great so far-- he's a wonderful dog, just needs some training. He was kept tied up outside by his former owners, so he's not used to all the attention, but he's loving it. The rescue kept him in a kennel, so it was a nice transition from no attention to living with us. He's such a good dog-- no accidents in the house so far, very loving, and he's even okay with our cats (although they're not okay with him yet). 
We're looking for an obedience class now because he needs major help on a leash. I just wanted to say hi to everyone, and I'll probably be back with questions soon. |

We're in Lafayette right now. My hometown is Columbus, IN, though, and my husband is from southern IN. We gave Harley a bath last night-- he did just great, even let me blow dry and comb him out. I'll try to figure out how to post pictures. I took a ton last night, but what else can you do when he's just so cute? |

| We got to meet Tara and Harley (and Tara's hubby) at Petco Saturday.
Lots of "oohs" and "aahs" when there's an OES (or three) in the store. YES!!!! There is a photograph

| Welcome and congratulations! My second sheepie, Bentley was a rescue. He'd been kept in a cage and didn't know how to go for a walk. He settled down but it takes time. He had the sunniest disposition and loved his new home. Best wishes!:cheer: |
