My Fingers Have Divets But At Least They Are Still All There

Well this weekend I started the "rotation" doing the periodic grooming chores that got left too long over the winter months. Grrrr! On Saturday it was Martin Zephram who started things off getting his ears, nails, pad hair and yes one of the most distasteful "grooming" jobs of all done: tooth cleaning. 8O Then last night and tonight it was Virgil Tiberius' turn. The boys are actually pretty good about all the grooming chores but understandably they are not fond of having their teeth scraped to get the plaque off. Virgil seemed to be more upset about it than usual so while I "wedged" the two big fingers of my left hand between his back teeth to keep his mouth open he tended to chomp down a bit. Seems he didn't believe daddy when I said ouch and other assorted "daddy likes his fingers in one piece" complaints. Even though he wasn't really bearing down hard the points of those back teeth can really hurt" Michele seemed to think it was quite funny - thanks wifey  For a while a few knuckles wore the telltale signs of sharp "carnivor" teeth meeting soft skin!! :rimshot: But they are all still there and connected to the hands so no losses no foul, right? Quite the opposite though Martin hates getting his teeth brushed any time (this time after scaling) and just about goes ballistic trying to spit the toothbrush and toothpaste out while Virgil lets me brush his teeth and gums without much protest - go figure!

With the spring show season almost upon us I'll be busy getting at least half the pack ready for the ring over the next couple of weeks. These are by far the most tedious jobs so when they are done bathing and clipping will seem like a breeze, a long breeze nevertheless a breeze.

Dang isn't life fun!!

I had to laugh as I have three and only London likes having her teeth brushed although she would like to eat the toothbrush.
You are going to be busy but just think of the rewards :D
I'll trade all that for one 11 month old going through coat change!

I bet you had some good divets - those molars are sharp!!! 8O
Carl, you crack me up
wonder if a dental block, children's size, would work? Probably spend more time trying to keep it from disappearing down the black hole in back.
Poor YOU!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Too funny Carl.. I can just picture his expression while he did it

I'm in the process of doing all those tedious bits as well.
Tucker has his first show in just over 2 weeks, so he gets his all over bath, trimming etc today.... He has SO much coat already, it's going to take hours....
Do you think Carl would notice if I slipped Toby into his rotation? Hmmm....With all those boy sheepdogs around, it might work!!!

Send him to me. I'll finish what I started a few months ago. ;)
I just had my vet do the teeth recently, sending my lot over to slip into the rotation too, Hmmmm let's hope carl is real involved and does not notice a few extra sets of teeth & dogs in the line up.

One thing I hate doing is the teeth and another is nails, I hate those darn black nails.
See Lisa that's why I'm just sending Toby. I think he'd noticed girls!!! That and if MIchelle called Carl and both Carl the person and Carl the sheepdog came, the jig might be up!
How bad is it that there was thought and strategy behind this?
Jill, be careful what you ask for!

Shhhh he might not notice, he is working up the other end!!! 8)
Hmmmmm
How far away is Canada?
Mapquest says you're approx 7 hours away from the Lindon Looney Bin
So you all enjoyed my poor fingers being crunched by the Virgy did you,  humm some kind of sadistic fun and then to add to it you are scheming people!!   Sneaky scheming people... Ooooo 8O Trying to slip "foreigners" (and whats worse girl foreigners) into my tedious grooming job rotation.

Well gang, some time ago Michele and I offered that if there were enough people in an area interested in a grooming tutorial weekend that you could cover our expences at a reasonable per capita rate we would be willing to travel to you. That offer is still open and I guess I'd open up the weekend to ears, nails, pad hair and even teeth cleaning. I do have to admit Lisa in Australia might find it tough getting a big enough group together for that one though.

On the other had you could just show up here and we could have the grooming weekend here at Chateau Lindon. 8)

Man what a wild and crazy bunch we all are eh?

Thanks and Cheers

Carl

Heck Mandy the Jig is up :bulb: 8)

Geez thought we could slip a few extra in the rotation without you noticing carl, sheesh better luck next time lol
