Help! New OES owner! What is best to feed my pup?

Confused! I feed her the food that is all natural. It's actually the Eukanuba, only Pet Smart brand. Read a lot about going natural. Grilling a lot for my girl and saving meat to supplement the food. Would love advice. I want to have her for a loooooong time!

Do you mean a raw diet?

I'm not feeding that, but I do know PetsMart carry's a fridge full of things pkg for a diet like this. Large sausage rolls of food...green pkging.

We feed the Authority, but Remy doesn't seem to like, even tho it is a really good quality.

We have also feed Nutro...she likes that. Royal Canin was hit, but is quite expensive....there are so many different foods.

We have also feed IAMS and Nutrience...also liked those.

What I like to do is comapre maney different brands, collect samples and present her with a taste test. I lay out 4-5 choices, and she smells each one and then eats...last time I did this it was Nutro.

Read the ingredient list, the first product on the bag is what is most in that bag...for example if chicken is listed, then your getting higher quality, verses rice as listed, or another grain.

Brown rice is healthier than white rice, whole rice is better than husks....
There are dry dog foods that are made from all-natural ingredients that some here will be able to tell you about. Before I switched Bingley to a raw diet I ordered Flint River dog food.

Now I feed a completely raw food diet to my boy. This site does a good job of explaining a little of how he is fed: http://www.rawdogranch.com/rawdiet.htm
There are many places to buy this type of diet. If you get it pre-mixed at a pet supply store it will be very expensive. I prepare the food myself to save money. Bingley has done wonderfully on it. He used to have diarrhea almost constantly - I can count the number of times his stool was actually normal. Since we've switched him his stool immediately began improving and now all I carry on our walks are those itsy-bitsy baggies because I know he's going to be good! He also hasn't had an ear infection since we switched.

Honestly it is all up to what YOU have researched, what YOU feel comfortable with, and knowing YOUR dog best. Good luck!!!!
I agree with Mop Lover... do your research, but don't believe everything you read. It's better to form your own opinions based on what works.
