Is the whole nail gone and it's just a little stub or is it like a nail that was cut short and there's still hard nail there? |
The nail is pretty much all gone! Just a ragged stub left! |
You can pretty much just let it go. If you have antiseptic spray use that but don't do too much with it. You can also put some Neosporin on it and cover it with a sock when he goes outside or if you have carpet that will stick to it.
Norman used to do that all the time and you really just need to watch it. It'll be sore if you are washing it and messing with it. |
Thank you Maxmm!
I was concerned that this might be a big infection risk! My vet is closed on Saturday, So I couldn't call for advise, there. I'm going to put a bit of neosporin on it, and his booties. Thanks, again! |
Just be careful with the booties that they don't rub it too much, that'll cause it to be very irritated. If you keep the boots on, but some gauze or something like that in between. Even a clean, white sock and then the booties. |
