Good chew bone

OK we are still trying to get Sophie to stay in the crate without drooling. Have tried toys, Gary's socks, radio,TV and still she drools when we are gone. Is there some kind of good chew bone that I could get? My other sheepie liked rawhide, but are they the best? Thanks for the info. ny other suggestions?

Do you have a KONG toy? I love those - you can fill them with yummy treats that keep them looking forward to crate time. Bingley likes his multi-layered!
I do have a Kong. I put penut butter in it and she liked it the first time. What do you mean "multi-layered"? I haven't tried hard treats in it yet. She did like the Kong.
Another good long lasting toy is the "Everlasting Treat Ball"...the removable ends are edible, and you can fill up the inside with small treats. 8)

Be careful, by the way, with socks...some dogs will swallow them! 8O
I don't think socks are a good idea no matter what the situation. Not only will it possible make for bad habits, she could swallow one and it could cause a blockage. Kongs are good busy toys. Maybe even one of those frozen bones?
You can peanut butter in the back of the kong and then stuff other treats inside of it. Depending on how good she is at solving mysteries you can adjust the amount of packing you do. For instance, if she is very persistent in her chewing you can get pack her Kong full of her favorite treats, seal the ends with peanut butter, and then freeze it overnight. When you leave you can give it to her in her crate. If she's just learning how to 'unstuff' a KONG you don't need to freeze it - just stuff away and see how long it takes her to get through it! I know some members take a bit of kibble, wet it, and then let it expand inside. Here are some stuffy suggestions:

You can buy KONG stuffables from the store - I have no experience with them but I bet they work!

Apple bits

Carrot bits

Cottage Cheese

Peanut Butter (of course)

Training treats - whatever you use

Little bits of turkey

Cheese

Whatever you use make sure you have previously given it to her in your sight so you know she reacts well to it. Otherwise have fun1 I know if you go to their website their are some on-line recipes for KONG stuffies as well. Good luck :!:

Oh and I agree about the sock - I know of three cases where surgery was required. I'm paranoid about keeping socks away from Bingley now!
