He was in the garage- laying there while I bagged up the trash for the garbage man... I opened the Garage door- and he scooted to the edge- out onto the gravel- and UP he went - and started to walk. Tumbled pretty quick- but he was going to get up and try again. I stopped him because he was on the gravel- ( he's my baby) and brought him back into the garage... By then he had lost his momentum. Maybe I should have let him go- but didn't want him to get cut if he fell on the rocks. He like sharp cheddar- and LOVES the good stuff @ 15.99 a pound. Guess who ran to the store to pick up some for him We save it for special occasions- and really limit what he gets- but I figured we needed to have a party What a day. Oh- and he held his pee until we got outside today... Ah... there is nothing like seeing Max go in the yard to make me smile. |

Quote: Is Max on any pain meds?
No- The only thing he is taking right now is Trixsyn- a natural folic acid that promotes healing. He may be going back on steroids- we will talk about that when we re-evaluate. |

Val, was Chummie on any pain meds after surgery? |
Ron wrote: Val, was Chummie on any pain meds after surgery?
Yes, tons! After surgery, she was on morphine, tramadol, prednisone, gabapentin and methocarbonal. Basically, these are pain relievers, anti-inflammatory, a nerve block, and a muscle relaxer. She was on these drugs for 2-4 weeks. But she is off all of them now. And I think Max's surgery was over 6 weeks ago so he would be off those drugs now too. I would like to get her some relief from the arthritis pain. I am going to try Dog Gone Pain and fish oil to see if it helps. And she needs to get back in the pool. . . |
