Joan I can't believe you said that!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! As soon as I strated to read your post my FIRST THOUGHT WAS DARK SHADOWS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I knew that! We were both doing extra required TV viewing for nurses. Good grief Ginny, we were in an old book store and Bob found Cherry Ames Flight Nurse and a few other ones from the series. So cool, it was my favorite book series. Just finished it again and still love it! |
So glad to hear someone else out there still has their CHERRY AMES books |

You guys are like in a parallel universe right now. I have NO IDEA what or who you're talking about! Not even the faintest! |
How come I could only come up with the names Bobby Troop and Julie London for actors in this series.........hanging with an older crowd, I guess.
You youngers really missed a sexy Julie London.........wow. Bet Ron remembers |
Randolph Mantooth was the keynote speaker at an EMS conference I went to last fall, he told us all the set "secrets" |

Ginny, Randolph Mantooth is aging quite nicely I hear....he could pull my big toe out of the tub faucet ANY time |
Yea, he's looking pretty good but he is pretty SHORT!!! I always thougth he was a big tall guy!!! But then I was a Roy Desota fan!!!
Here's a bit of Emergency trivia...... Someone asked him why it was that it seemed like Roy was ALWAYS the one that got to drive the rig. He said it was because "back in the day" to save money they would shoot stock footage all at once and use it over and over. So one Sat morning they were shooting the "driving footage", He had been out partying heavily the night before (he was only 21 at the time) and was so hung over that it was all he could do to sit on the passenger side and hold his head up. Little did he know that that would forever relegate him to the role of "passenger". |
barney1 wrote: You guys are like in a parallel universe right now. I have NO IDEA what or who you're talking about! Not even the faintest!
I'm with you on this one Steph. |
I loved Shazzammmm, Sigmund & the Sea Monsters and the Banana Splits!
And Emergency wasn't too bad either although I loved CHiPs too! |
I loved the Banana Splits, na na na, na na na na, always wanted one of them buggies to zoot around in. |
I'm old enough to be in the parallel universe, but I rarely watched TV as a young person. So, I don't know half these shows or people either! |

I always thought the nurse books were SHERRY Ames. I couldn't understand why her name was CHERRY. Still makes no sense to name your kid after a fruit.
Sha na na, na na na na, one banana, two banana, three banana, four, four bananas make a bunch and so do many more.... |
I forgot H.R. PufnStuff too! |
Hr puff n stuff! Loved it.
Land of the lost - remember the sleestacks? (Marshal Will and Holly, on a routine expedition........) How about Ironside? Love that one too, and Adam 12 and Hawaii Five-O, I still sing that one while surfing the bed when I'm changing sheets. and of course Drag Net - Vic loved Car 54 where are you, so he is obviously older then me Shellie |
I was born in 72...so I don't recognize some of those.
But when I do remember it was shows like, Dukes of Hazard, A-Team, 6 Million $ Man, Wonder Woman, Hardy Boys (where I took the name Parker), Dallas, Magnum, Charlie Angels, etc...but in the early 70's it was all about Sesame Street for me...I was glued to that, and Mr DressUp, and Friendly Giant. For soaps, they didn't start until my Grandma passed away, my grandpa was bored and got glued to afternoon soaps. Edge of Night was my first soap, then got stuck on many after that. |
Daisie wrote: but in the early 70's it was all about Sesame Street for me...I was glued to that, and Mr DressUp, and Friendly Giant.
Me too... Sesame Street, Mr Dressup, Mr Rogers, and Friendly Giant. Astro Boy, Transformers, Smurfs, and He-Man too. LOL Little House On The Prarie was my absolute favorite though, and Highway To Heaven. The guy who played the giraffe on Friendly Giant lives in the same town as me.... he was in my husband's work a couple months ago, and didn't recognize him of course, but when he spoke Even funnier was my husband admitting he recognized the voice! |
Shellie,
I see Hawaii 5-0 is out on DVD. Cool! Super evil Wo Fat! Book em Dano! Before Magnum PI and Hawaii 5-0 there was another Hawaii based dective show........anybody remember? My early tv shows were Kukla, Fran and Ollie or everyone's favorite "Howdy Doodie." susan |
Hawaiian Eye with Robert Conrad!
We could go back even further ... how about Have Gun for Hire and Peter Gunn. I think those were my dad's favorites. Donna S |
ButtersStotch wrote: I didn't watch it because i was busy being born.

One Banana - Two Banana- Three Banana - Four...... The beginning line of the Banana Split Theme Song...
Ah.. The Shazam and Isis hour... Now THAT was Saturday morning!!! General Hospital and Jeff Webber - I just knew I was going to marry him someday. sigh............... |
Maxmm wrote: Yikes! Darcy, if you had that ringtone, wouldn't you get all giddy and excited every time your phone rang?

Can't believe none of you mentioned the ultimate tv show..The Brady's!!!
Hums...there's a story of a lovely lady with .. Loved Friendly Giant too - the first tv show I ever watched (I always got the little rocking chair.) We also had a show on the West Coast that aired for many years called Pete's Place featuring Peter Rolston. Very cool as I ended up working shows with him early in my childrens entertainment career. Johnny Gage!!! Forgot all about him until this post...he was pretty cute. My all time favorite star when I was a kid was Clint Eastwood. I know not tv star but movie star, as an 8 year old I wanted to marry him. Marianne and the boys Pss I have retro tv channel so I often watch the old shows but so far they haven't featured Emergency. Lots of I love Lucy, Leave it to Beaver, Green Acres, and Petticoat Junction. |
I watch I Love Lucy alot now, but I didn't like it as a kid.
That would be cool to live in the same town as the Friendly Giant. I still watch Little House sometimes, still makes me all teary eyed when something is going all wrong then all happy. Michael Landon's daughter play's on the soap One Life to Live???Comes on after Days for me. She's pretty good, won an award for a newbie, and she thanked her dad, even tho he's dead now. I use to watch the highway to heaven too. Pretty much whatever was on farmer vision, we watched. Only had 2 maybe 3 channels. LOVED transformers, and Smurfs too...I forgot about them. |
Forgot about the Brady Bunch... I'm embarrassed to even admit I liked that show... uuughhh.... |
Willowsprite wrote: Forgot about the Brady Bunch... I'm embarrassed to even admit I liked that show... uuughhh....
Bet you watched the Partridge family too Forgot about HR Puff-n-stuff loved that one too. Get Smart Land of the Giants Gilligans Island Lost in Space I am only 21 +++++ |
Hawaiian Eye! Yep. Do you remember the triad, the three shows that were so similar they even traded actors? Hawaiian Eye, 77 Sunset Strip and Bourbon Street Beat....Kookie, Kookie Lend Me Your Comb. Then there was Surfside Six.........wasn't that Troy Donoghue? What a hunk!
Have Gun.......Richard Boone who's last movie was also John Wayne's......The Shootist. Speaking of The Duke, how about another buddy Ward Bond on Wagon Train. Now help me, who was the star of Cheyenne? Enough, next you'll have me waxing about Topt Gigio and Senor Wences......... |
SheepieBoss wrote: Enough, next you'll have me waxing about Topt Gigio and Senor Wences.........
"s'alright" |

Boy, I don't remember Bourbon Street.
Clint Walker was Cheyenne (I cheated... could picture him, but looked it up. Did you know he has his own web site?) Can't believe the number of westerns I watched as a kid... Laramie (Robert Fuller), Wagon Train, Bat Masterson, Gunsmoke, and my favorite, The Virginian, with hunky James Drury Donna S. |
>>>>>>>>Always regret I didn't rename Panda formally known as Robin to >>Gilligan.
Oh well....next dog's name is already picked. Marianne |
How about the "LOVE BOAT"...
Three's Company Happy Days followed by Laverne and Shirley, Mork and Mindy. We never missed these shows either....and Rockford Files??? James Garner? |
NaNu NaNu.......remember Val, Chums and the Mags are living in Boulder. One of the few cities where a space alien would blend right in.
Alas, Robin Williams admits he did a lot of drugs while filming Mork and Mindy......... |
