I have two sheepies and one of them has that finer hair that mats if she goes outside in the rain for like ten minutes. My other sheepie has the courser hair and he is easy to brush. I have a shedder blade brush that I use, but it thins her hair out. Any suggestions? Ohhh. I am not a groomer by any means, but I have owned horses for years and the product that get sheepies SUPER clean is Quick Silver Blue for light horses. I have found out over the years that it works so well you will be astonished! Also Show sheen for horses get the mats out and makes them smell so good. After some Quick silver and some Show Sheen my puppies get to sleep in the bed with me (if my husband is out of town). |

I have the 27 mm T-shaped brush by Chris Christensen. I absolutely love it. Shaped like a slicker brush but is a pin brush. Makes brushing easier (the strokes), and I feel like it handles well.
http://www.chrissystems.com/brushes.htm For matts and tough areas, I use a greyhound comb. Looks like this. https://secure.highspeedweb.net/~ldcpet ... yhound.htm BTW, you have such a wonderful avatar. Is that your sheepdog in the picture? |
I have that T-brush too and I love it -- very easy on my hand. |
I just ordered one of those T brushes! Awesome! Thanks for posting |
Love your avatar - gorgeous! |
I love the 2 Hindes pin brushes I have. Now that LeAnne got her own sheepie, we had to divide up the brushes!
So, I just ordered one of the CC T-brushes too. I had wanted one awhile ago, but had enough brushes. Now that I actually need one - I decided it was time to get one! The ergonomics look great. I did play with one at a show this winter and liked it. I prefer the combs with a handle. I've used both and the handle ones seem nicer to use. No real difference in combing on the dog, just easier on me. |
Hi!
I have the Hinds brush (straight pins), a C.C. 27 mm brush , and a Les Pooch brush. The Les Pooch brush is great ! As it is imported, the smaller size is fine instead of the wide. I have the Red medium brush( for thin hair. The Blue brush is good if your sheepie has course hair. If you are not showing your dog, it is a good brush for difficult area. It is a slicker type brush but the straight pins are thinner. I use all 3 brushes throughout the year depending on the coat length. The Les Pooch link is here--- http://www.lespoochs.com/brush-blue.asp Zahra (forgot to log in!) |
