Accessories in the house: avocado, blue cheese, red onion, green onion, romaine lettuce, celery, cucumber, pasta sauce (red Ragu). I have no taties except Tater Tots and I don't want those. I guess I could make spaghetti but I'm not really a pasta fan. |

Well if you had a box of Stove Top Stuffing you could make little muffin meatloves..
Take your hamburger, mix in the stuff mix (unclooked), add some Ragu put in muffin tins.. bake for 30-35 minutes.. you could grate your blue cheese on top just befoe they come out of the oven.. then you could make a nice salad to go with. |
I have a cannster of Stove Top with about a handful in it. Would that be enough? Could I use ketchup or chili sauce instead of Ragu???? |
you can use just about anything, I usually use salsa...I would think about a cup of stuffing mix would be okay..
I usually use one box to 1lb of hamburger... |
If you don't think you have quite enough stuffing you could add a bit of rice, even better if you have instant. |
Hamburger casserole..
heres something easy....brown ground beef with an onion and some celery....add can of tomatoes, can of tomato sauce, and a half bag of cooked elbow noodles....mix all together...add salt pepper and some garlic powder.... add cubed cheese (i like cheddar)...throw in a pyrex dish bake till hot and bubbly....... serve with garlic bread.... |
that sounds yummyyyyyyyy.... |
Does sound yummy, but it will take longer than half an hour. I know I'll be starving as I walk in the door! |
This is going to sound gross, but I really like it. Dice some onion and celery, saute. When its softish add ground beef. Season with salt and pepper. After it browns, add 1 raw scrambled egg (or 1/4 c egg beaters). Let it all cook together mixing it around. I don't know what it is, they used to make it at the old JoJo's restaurant, and I really like it..and its fast and filling. |

I think we should call it Deborah's Scramble. Sounds delicious You could add any vegi's that you have at home...peppers would be good. |
I have the perfect name:
Oeuf and turf! |
I just Googled it... there is not one hit for "oeuf and turf" on the web! LOL
Someday -- fame. |
Ha ha...it is really good and very flexible. I also like green peppers in it. Sometimes I add garlic, sometimes I go more tex mex with chili pepper. Ouch! Now I'm getting hungry! |
Chili!
That's what we are making tonight Simple, brown the ground beef. I add a small amt of gravy master. Then use the Carroll Shelby chili mix kit. I add onion, green and red pepper, the chili packet, and leave out the salt packet. Mix the massa with warm water and pour in. Simmer. Serve with shreded cheese (we use Cabot cheese). A few taco chips on the side. Season with the chili pepper to taste. http://www.luzianne.com/template_category.cfm?ID=9& |
what is gravy master? |

Here is the link http://www.gravy.com/ I usually stock it to make gravy. I just add a touch to the ground beef for flavor in the chili recipe. It is in the spice section at your supermarket, or with the canned gravy. |
Thanks for the link. I don't think I've ever seen that at the store before (but then, I've never had a need to look!) |
Went with Dudster's suggestion. I minced a small onion and mixed it with ground beef, a handful of Stovetop, chili sauce, a splash of half and half (fat free!), salt and pepper. Put it in mini-muffin tins and topped with a bit of chili sauce. Baked them at 350 for 15 minutes. It made 7 mini meatloaf muffins and they were delicious. I ate all of them!
Gravy Master is a kitchen staple. Obviously use it for gravy, but my family also uses it for anything we want to look brown but isn't. Like when I make pork chops, they never get brown enough so I brush them with Gravy master. |
I'm glad that you enjoyed them.. easy peesie, and so good... i got that receipe from the What's Cooking magaine from Kraft.. it's free and you get it 4 times per year.
Simple receips, easy ingredients. There is another with stuffing that I make for breakfast.. make your stuffing, put it in muffin pan, make well in middle, crack an egg in well, sprinkle bacon bits and cheese on top and back till egg is done.... very filling for the morning. |
is gravy master like kitchen bouquet? |

Yep. Although Kitchen Bouquet has more of a taste. Gravy Master is pretty tastless. |
Paula O. wrote: Yep. Although Kitchen Bouquet has more of a taste. Gravy Master is pretty tastless. That's why I use Gravy Master---I like to kick up my Chili real spicy so the GM is subtle and the spices are |
I'm learning so much!!! When I use fake meat (soy meat) I do so for health/diet reasons, not because I'm a vegeterian, so I always add beef broth for alittle more flavor. Maybe I'll try kitchen bouquet. Paula...does it have points? |
Those little meat muffin things sound really good, and I bet my kids would even eat them... I'm going to try it. |
debcram wrote: Paula...does it have points? No points. You don't use much, maybe a teaspoon. But I wouldn't rely on the Kitchen Bouquet to add much flavor. You still need to add spices. Soy meat?????? What brand? |
Morningstar. I make your breakfast recipe each day (but use links instead of patties and omit the cheese), and I use the fake ground beef for spagetti and chili. It's really not bad..actually pretty good. I think the beef broth helps a lot. |
